La Montfermeil! one of my favs from the DADGAD Classics book!! The book has really broadened my knowledge of composers & compositions I wasn’t familiar with. And your versions are just so fantastic.
The passion you have is truly inspiring, the way you look at the guitar seems like you are taking care of someone special. And that sound, it has such a powerful feeling to it, the first few seconds were enough to transport me to a new dimension. I'm so happy to be able to contemplate marvellous artists like you, it gives me hope that soon I'll be able to walk the path of a dedicated musician. Simply fantastic!
Sir you are a truly master. I enjoy the easy flowing in your playin, it sound effortless but I know what it costs. I'm working with your "introduction to the lute" and enjoying it a lot. I hope when you fully recover you release the Bach suites for ukelele in 5ths. Get well soon!!
This is brilliant, taking a soulful piece from theorbo (a marvelous, but rare, clumsy, and expensive instrument) to the guitar with innovative string technology and clever arranging. Love to hear more in this genre.
Perfect timing for my lunch break at work, Rob😊 So great to see and hear you again, been thinking and concerned.. sending sunshine and love and hoping for good days only soon xxx
Sorry to hear about the long covid. Ive been watching your videos a lot in the past years as I have suffered from MECFS since early 2018. I have been learning to play baroque lute with the very limited energy I have, and have learned a lot from your channel. As someone who knows what its like to have the wind taken from my sails, I wish you the best with your health. Cheers, Mason
Gorgeous tone. Immaculate artistry. A treat and a treasure. Thanks for all the wonderful music. And all the insightful, thoughtful comments from you on several forums I’ve regularly wandered through over the years. Take care!
Lovely Rob, it's always a treat to hear you play! I am so sorry to hear you are not yet fully recovered from Covid. My best wishes to you for continued improvement, Linda
@@RobMacKillop1 That's funny, I was actually commenting on your 'Stones video, which is also FANTASTIC! youtube moved my comment to this video, which I also much enjoyed. All best,
I don't really know what to say, this is mind blowing Rob, beautifully played, gorgeous representation of this period music. I'm sorry to hear you were afflicted by this virus. It's all around us here in Ireland too. I wish you a safe and healthy passage through this period. Your playing is both inspiring and magical. Thank you for continuing to do what you do best.
Thank you Rob .... you’ve just gifted my day a memorable moment :) Guitar sounds awesome...beautifully played. I hope your full recovery comes quickly. Keep safe and well Best
It's such a delight to hear you play ! Thank you very much indeed for this (now too rare) treat. Hoping to see and hear you more often. With all good wishes.
Stumbled onto this - so wonderful to hear you back in the baroque. Beautiful and beautifully played. Maybe someday I’ll graduate from the Renaissance to a baroque lute. Totally believable on the guitar tho.
Very Lovely. Very shocked to see a "dislike'. Humanity is certainly declining. Beautiful music and beautiful playing continue to be Uplifting. Thank you.
Hello Rob, I was just enjoying a cup of coffee and saw your post. I didn’t know that you had covid and are still suffering from that. I’m very sorry to hear that. Beautifully played as always Rob, so much expression. You make it seem effortless.

Outstanding Bravo I don't know why more classical guitarists don't endorse lower tuning appropriate for theorbo.
I know! It’s a wonderful sound.

Wonderful! All the best for you!

Hi Rob, that's very nice and very low! The cross string trills are fun and sound very appropriate :-)
I have to admit they do sound appropriate, like a harpsichord which has eaten too much pudding :-)
Great sound...! 👏
Cheers, Danijel. These strings are fun to play with.

@@RobMacKillop1 thanks Rob, I am living quietly and staying at home, the infection rate is very high in the Netherlands.

Long-haulers have it rough. Take care of yourself while you're rebuilding.
The sound of that tuning is delicious.
Thanks, Claude.
Are there any published editions of these de Visee works for guitar? Love the baritone sound ☺
Hi. I love your video and music. You version of chaconne is really great. Have seen in thé comments that you have a written version on sale. How can i buy it? So beautiful
Sorry, I lost it!
@@RobMacKillop1 oh!
How can someone give dislike to this.
First Rule of Performance: you can only please some of the people, some of the time. I'm okay with that. :-)
Le top
Thanks again, Jean François!
Hi Rob. As usual, amazing. Is this piece in any of your tab books that I may be able to purchase?
Sorry, no. Not yet, at least, but I don't have an edition planned.
What strings are these? Aquila's Low A Strings... where can I buy them?
This is how de Visée should be played.
👍
Beautiful arrangement.
Hard to tell because of the B&W, but is that a cedar top?
Charcoal :-) Yes, cedar.
Very good job. Wich mic do you use?
Rode NT4.
Great playing and tune. Did you transform your guitar into a theorbo? Did the Visée score needed to be modified?
I just changed strings: Aquila Low A set. No, nothing was changed...maybe one note, I can’t remember.
@@RobMacKillop1 so just a change in string and the guitar is a theorbo, this is a fantastic discovery!!!
Is there a way to get this transcription?
No, sorry.
Can I buy this arrangement from you? I'd like to learn it.
King Louis XIV would be delighted. fortunately, nowadays, you don't need to be king. yutube has the best troubadours.

Haha, I don't care about kings, but I would like to think the composer would not turn in his grave.
