  • Build in Scotland by Denney and Brothers Ltd, Aramoana was the first roll-on roll-off ferry operating on the Cook Strait of New Zealand. She was capable of carrying 80 motor vehicles, 40 motor vehicles and and up to 20 rail wagons. The first commercial sailing was on 13th August, 1962, and she was withdrawn from service after the introduction of Arahura in 1983.
