    I like this method. Probably easier to tune the low E to the first E on the D string though.

    If you put the fork in your mouth and bite down, you can hear the tone clearly and tune the A (or other notes, like open D) while it is vibrating.

    Tuning fork tuning is great for practice, but on the gig do you tune to the fork or the piano?

    Pizzicatto doesnt get an accurate pitch for tuning. You need to play arco and electronic tuner.
    Keeps subjectivity out of one aspect of music. Most of bass playing is super infected with subjective opinions. Glad I stopped treating it as a professional job and got a trades job.
