His words are so meaningful and powerful to me! My husband and I would listen to the song because we liked it and could apply it to situations we didn’t want to relive. THEN he was diagnosed with cancer and 7 months later he went to heaven. God told me he is in heaven. But now I sing the song to leave our past behind me and I am marching into my future with God but as a single lady now. So I also add the song Lead On Good Shepherd by Patrick Mayberry to my collection. God is a good shepherd and HE faithful!
So true I understand this story. I used pain meds and alcohol. I flushed the pills and pour ed out all the beer I had. At that time my wife and I we was done no more. I been clean since 2016
Hey Matt, Living the GoOD life, aren't we? You are so lucky you could do that and didn't become hopelessly addicted and need prolonged detox and inpatient treatment, like my best friend's brothers, over and over, and they never got it---they both died young and she has no siblings. It broke her mother, she was very traumatized and developed dementia, and had to go live in a nursing home. It is harder when you do not get off the elevator before it takes you way down low, where you have lost so much you cannot see your way back, you cannot see the Light, you cannot imagine a good life with or without your addiction. Do not go back. Hang with people who don't drink or use and Consider adding a safety net like Celebrate Recovery once per week or a 12 Step meeting. Living in God's will can be heaven on earth! But the addiction is in the corner, eating lemons, just waiting for you to step back into that arena. Go to another arena, and ditch the using buddies, and live your life for the Lord. Bless you, Matt, wife and family🥰
