The first moon landing occurred almost 52 years ago (20 July 1969). Much of the design calculations for this feat were done using slide rules (Google “slide rule” if you don’t know what it is). Technology has come a very long way since then. Do not try to diminish the magnitude of that achievement.

There was no landing tho. Just a fake video to make Russians look bad.

Thank you for sharing this with us!
We need more brilliant people like they are on networking systems and battery technology.
Microchips going to be an alien but network and battery are still dinosaurs.
    Cheers.

i was waiting for someone to point this out. battery technology is way behind. it is very recently that we are seeing some improvements with regards to graphene powered batteries.

Agreed. How watching a documentary about the folding process of Japanese katanas provided the eureka moment to developing the membrane responsible for blocking the 30nm dust particles. Brilliant stuff.

I wonder if anyone even has an overview over how many patents are required to produce a modern day smartphone chip. Think off all the machines, supplies, chemicals, etc. involved.

Those patents plus export controls are denying China the use of this wonderful technology. That Taiwan is permitted by the “rules based international order” to manufacture chips with this Dutch, German, and American patents whereas China cannot do so is no doubt galling to the Chinese. In fact it represents a significant economic, political and security vulnerability to China. If China cannot get this technology by legal means, expect it to get it through extra legal means including conquest of Taiwan. So much for your patents and export controls.

There are rumors that some of ASML's competitors (Nikon and Canon) may get a huge funding influx from Chinese industry to create a competitor to ASML's EUV l machines. The company Cymer that ASML purchased who's critical laser technology was one of the several key technologies in the lithography machines may be able to be achieved by some of Cymer's historic competitors in the laser industry. I'm still digging to see if there is any potential truth to this.

@@2drealms196 doesnt work like that buddy , ASML and its suppliers literally had to invent new technology and spent several years to develop EUV , China needs it now they dont have 30years to wait as they develop the tech from scratch

The Egyptians . They knew that the universe was based on the largest mass. The balance between two universes. When the two equal zero. then the universe is balanced. To move objects in space make the two weightless. The formula of M1 + M2 decided by y =0. M1 mass of 1000 tons plus the mass of M2 mass of 1000 tons divided by y sq. equals zero gravity. There for when balanced, you can place 5 lb on one side to change the angle.
Look at the images from Egypt Scales were the movement of stone. 2.5 tons +2.5 tons
decided by y squared. Move 2.5 stone to the next level to be placed.
