I’m also a Bajiquan practitioner I prefer doing this form slower with more emphasis on power generation. Focusing on the mechanics I definitely favour what I call power Bajiquan like An Jian Qiu style from complete softness to extreme hardness yin to yang. This was still extremely masterful great job 👏 👍🤜
Li ShuWen should have never combined Baji with Pigua. How will we ever see what natural Baji looks like? When the old masters said that when Baji and Pigua are combined they will become undefeated, they didn’t mean to actually combine the arts into a single art. They meant that the artist should switch between styles accordingly and effectively to take the opportunity. Now I have to learn watered down Muslim “meng” Baji which has been combined with tan tui. God have mercy on the Wudao.
Because sometimes I feel it takes away the Depth and Authenticity of Traditional Chinese Kung Fu. Wushu practitioners are Absolutely Amazing but as I say “sometimes” it, as is known, has no Spirit 🕊
@@andrealuigilaplaca1291Sorry but that's bul..hit. The person in the video is doing sports wushu intended for competitions. This is sports wushu. He doing Bajiquan, but it is modified for the needs of sport wushu competitions. The only people who destroy the culture of old school traditional wushu are the people who practice true traditional wushu. These people keep talking about fighting skills, self defense and practical use in fighting, but you will hardly see them in the boxing ring or octagon but you will see them at the old school kung fu competitions in the taolu category. Sports wushu athletes do not destroy the name of traditional styles. They are only athletes. Traditional styles are destroyed by traditional wushu people who only talk and talk and talk but then go to the ground immediately in a fight if their opponent is an average boxer.
Are you referring to this form? This was created by Li ShuWen, and that was way before the reconstruction period when wushu was being forced down everyone’s throats.
Okay, your point being? This is taolu, choreography essentially. The equivalent is asking a ballet dancer to fight a judoka. If you want to fight ask someone that does sanda, not taolu
Beautiful! So Good!
Great performance, what a excelent style Baji quan is.
Great performance.
Yes, agreed. A great performance 👏
Nice.👏
Akira Yuki.👍😄
八極拳ですね。凄い功夫です👏
I see elbow strike, palm and punch, but where's the shoulder bash? I mean Ba Ji Quan very famous with shoulder bash but I don't see it in kata perform

I think An Jianqiu‘s style is quite similar to this, not the traditional way.

That nuisance in the background just to distract him is getting on my nerves.
I agree
I wish they'd shut up. That's not fair to the other participants.
I really want to know: are the martial arts today really useful in an actual fight?

I’m a kung fu baji practitioner and yet find wushu quite often, insulting.

It’s pretty but won’t win you a fight sooo what’s the point of doing it that fast? Would look prettier if you did like slow like in tai chi🤷🏽♂️
Your obviously a fool with that stupid statement. And it feels to go against them you would find out
You sound like an armchair.
加油的是为了搞乱大师的节奏吗?
哈哈哈哈
Try to fight on ufc,,ahahaahaha
Kung fu in ufc fighter are nothing...
