  • How to install a DIY batting cage at home
We installed a batting cage in our garage. Watch how we mounted the brackets and cables to hang the net from.
We got our brackets cables and clips from practicesports.com. We purchased our net custom-made from iron Mike, pitching machines website

Hello sir, this is very cool and thanks a lot for the video/explanation. Trying to install one for my nephews and keeps coming off, did you install the mounting brackets to the studs?

Thanks for the comment. Yes we lag bolted the header to the studs with 6 inch screws. The mounted the brackets to header with the 4 inch lag screws. No issues yet.

Cool setup. Are you protecting those windows in any way?

Thanks! We have been able to hit away from them so far and haven’t had any issues. The net odds usually tight enough. Might put some pads on the wall in a few spots to have some extra protection.

Do you feel cramped at all in that space? Was looking into possibly doing this in our garage but would only have about a 20×11x8 ft space.

This is 32 ft long garage 13 ft wide 10ft tall, net size is 28 ft long 12ft wide 9 ft tall.. it isn’t none to big but definitely better than what we had before.. just a net up in the corner of the basement. It definitely beats building a $50,000 building 😞 right now. Thanks for stoping by

It looks great. Would love to do something similar for my boys. Just trying to decide if we should do it in our garage or outside.

What size net did you buy?

26 ft long 11.5 ft wide 10 ft tall but 1 foot of that drags on the floor.

Do you think I should make ths with a garage thats 24feet long and 8 feet high with the kid that almost plays jv

It may be a bit tight with the 8 ft tall ceiling. You could definitely put down Matt with oversized batting screen to hit off a tee into and soft toss
