Guys this isn't the end. It's a part of a non cannon spin off called Turtle Tales. It's basically an alternate universe. Although many of the creators did want this to be the official ending it was not.
This not being the canon ending makes me happy and sad, happy because it means the Turtle's are living their best life in New York, but sad because this story was so good
I know it's technically not the canon end of the series, but it feels so wrapped up here. The brothers, despite their changes, reunite and start anew in the wasteland left behind by the mutigen bomb. I like it. :')
I like this dark ending because it teaches a very important lesson - you could make all the right choices and win all the battles... and still lose the war in the end, and see your whole world collapse. It's a bit of wisdom taken straight out of real life.

If this season is "WHAT IF?" then this series must comeback, i have no problem making this series the next spongebob because to be honest this series deserve it, i realy love it's art style, beside this series mad sure that it will be for teenagers and not only for kids, wich is why it so amazing. Edit: TMNT 2012 and Transformers Primes are the only series that gave you the dark tone from comics

master splinter give turtles their weapons as important lesson. Raph is known to be most brutal and offensive from turtles and splinter gave him sai, blunt weapons meant for defence. Donatello is the smartest of the turtles and splinter gave him a "stick" to keep in mind sometimes simple stuff are effective as technologically advanced. Mikey is known to be scatter brain, always do things that distract other and splinter gave him nunchuks, weapon that requires your attention, otherwise you hit yourself. Leo is the most ethical samurai like of the turtles and splinter gave him katanas. Leo as most ethical of all is only one from team who have weapon that can kill somebody.

In all honesty I grew up on the original tnmt, although it was goofy as hell rewatching now i had mad love for it. When this show came out i thought it kind of looked a bit kid downed from the one that came out in 2003. I didn't really care for 2003 but i liked the design of the turtles, i noticed after a few seasons they kept changing the appearance of them to the point were they almost looked like frog aliens, the Rise design was a huge eye sore, and it felt like teen titans go all over again on the way they acted. Now that i am a father i put on the 2012 version for my son and have actually watched almost all episodes with him and came to really like the 2012 version of them. They act like teenagers, they look pretty good, the storyline is pretty good for the most part, its dark but yet kid friendly, and splinter and shredder are badasses. April and casey as teens not my favorite idea but it kinda works. When i saw these wasteland episodes i right away knew it was a huge Madmax callout. Which i happen to find little easter eggs throughout the entirety of the show run, robocop, kung fu, Freddy Krueger, and even a obvious Bruce lee character just to name a few. I loved this little storyline that they did because i was a huge madmax fan growing up and to see the turtles in this kind of scene was really cool, because it was darker than usual, especially when i saw Casey's head. I hate the they kinda cut down on the visual effect on these few episodes but it was still a great watch.
The Hamato Clan fell to the Foot Clan. In spite of their origins, the Turtles honor the fallen members of the Hamato Clan and preserve their heritage. Huge coincidence their symbol resembles a turtle shell. And a pizza.
I know this is said to be non-canon, but with how it was structured, along with the creators originally intending it to be the proper ending to the show instead of that second crossover with the 80s show, I think it's safe to assume it is canonically (depending on how you view it) the true ending. This style, the 2012 style needs to be the permanent fixture for the entire namesake and franchise.

Damn why is it that every future of the turtles is dark. 2003 had Donatello see a dystopian future. Rise TMNT has everyone killed by the Krang with only Casey surviving. If this was what they truly had in mind for the ending then they really squandered what could’ve potentially been an epic final season send-off. They had plenty of time to plan and execute a season where everything that came before would come together in an explosive epic denouement. We still could’ve had resolutions for April’s alien roots, especially the whereabouts of her mother, Timothy’s return, etc. But no. It’s as if the makers’ hearts weren’t quite in it for this final season. Way too segmented with story sections, instead of focusing on the season as a whole. You know what could’ve been a great final episode? After everything is resolved, the Turtles would each ponder how their futures would eventually play out as they swap different stories/scenarios. Remember in the ‘03 series when Cody Jones tricked the Turtles into reading a fake journal about what happened to each Turtles? Something along those lines, in terms of anthology form. This whole Mad Max scenario was too dark for such a show, and lazy storytelling because we never get any mention about the bomb and such. Jim Henson’s Dinosaur was a million times better when it came to properly telling a series finale, and that was also dark. Unlike TMNT ‘12, everything was explained within one episode. TMNT ‘12 went through THREE EPISODES and they never exposited about the bomb or anything for that matter pertaining to the Apocalypse.
WHY DID THEY DO THE TURTLES LIKE THAT this ending is kinda sad tho. The first couple episodes where they discover the foot clan and the pink brain thingys. The appearance of April. Splinter training them. Bepop and rocksteady. Splinters death by super shredder. Shredders death by Leo. This ending just doesn’t feel right to me as it doesn’t even look like the turtles. But they came so far. But seriously tho u gotta fix them.
I know tales of the tmnt is not canon and more of a what if season but I personally consider the final episode of the kavaxas storyline to be the end of this show and the other are either not canon or epilogue episodes to show what the turles have been doing since

I cried at the end the ninja turtles season 5. Why did they make the brothers like this? They made Lenoardo big and Donutello Without a body, and the rest are old. I wished it wouldn’t happen like this. I wished Korai and Leo were mating and their sizes would remain normal

I like the season 5 as the 4 other ones, poor leo i wanna hug him so much, for his suffering to became his own monster like super shredder, i can't imagine leo having a nightmare as killing his own father like shredder did, and he gets the brutal battle outside the shredder lair with fire like in owari, but instead of young leonardo killing super shredder, he kills maximus kong, before he wokes up in shock and fright. Also the young turtles and splinter in heaven before taking the final family photo, it makes me think that it was on other timeline/dimension that they all died in heaven possibly young by a good future that we don't know, instead of the mutant apocalypse timeline/dimension.
I really liked this series, I wish that it continued, like Renee said that she would meet with Future Mikey and maybe they would do a story where Renee meets this older Mikey in this wasteland future and they use her to go back into the past and work with their past selves to stop the mutagen bomb and they do that and change the future and the it leads to more stories and episodes and adventures. I hate that it ended.
Donnie is the robot in this scene. Donnie’s body died during the mutagen bomb but his brain was linked to the robot so his mind and spirit went to the robot when his body died.
Literally the last episode had the 80s Bebop and Rocksteady involved and they were the last ones we see before the ending. Wasn’t that episode focused on them and not the turtles?

They had plenty of time to plan and execute a season where everything that came before would come together in an explosive epic denouement. We still could’ve had resolutions for April’s alien roots, especially the whereabouts of her mother, Timothy’s return, etc. But no. It’s as if the makers’ hearts weren’t quite in it for this final season. Way too segmented with story sections, instead of focusing on the season as a whole. You know what could’ve been a great final episode? After everything is resolved, the Turtles would each ponder how their futures would eventually play out as they swap different stories/scenarios. Remember in the ‘03 series when Cody Jones tricked the Turtles into reading a fake journal about what happened to each Turtles? Something along those lines, in terms of anthology form. This whole Mad Max scenario was too dark for such a show, and lazy storytelling because we never get any mention about the bomb and such. Jim Henson’s Dinosaur was a million times better when it came to properly telling a series finale, and that was also dark. Unlike TMNT ‘12, everything was explained within one episode. TMNT ‘12 went through THREE EPISODES and they never exposited about the bomb or anything for that matter pertaining to the Apocalypse.

I like the season 5 as the 4 other ones, poor leo i wanna hug him so much, for his suffering to became his own monster like super shredder, i can't imagine leo having a nightmare as killing his own father like shredder did, and he gets the brutal battle outside the shredder lair with fire like in owari, but instead of young leonardo killing super shredder, he kills maximus kong, before he wokes up in shock and fright. Also the young turtles and splinter in heaven before taking the final family photo, it makes me think that it was on other timeline/dimension that they all died in heaven possibly young by a good future that we don't know, instead of the mutant apocalypse timeline/dimension.
I really liked this series, I wish that it continued, like Renee said that she would meet with Future Mikey and maybe they would do a story where Renee meets this older Mikey in this wasteland future and they use her to go back into the past and work with their past selves to stop the mutagen bomb and they do that and change the future and the it leads to more stories and episodes and adventures. I hate that it ended.

Donnie is the robot in this scene. Donnie’s body died during the mutagen bomb but his brain was linked to the robot so his mind and spirit went to the robot when his body died.
