the thing was that trent is great from the right side while attacking, he has time to pull off a great cross while in the midfield it’s more about short passing and acting quickly because the tempo is so high there. So i get why klopp rather wanted him on the right, but the defense was suffering too much
Im calling bullshit, no supporter thought of a hybrid role. Everyone kept clamouring to put him in midfield and midfield only with RB being filled by Gomez.

People sometimes forget that he is still young & his passing range is AWESOME. Hopefully next season & in future he can develop his strength in many other things & workout his weakness. He is a good lad 👍🙂

Things can only get better, we sometimes forget that he's really only 22 yet he's had so many criticism thrown on him for his defensive side of things. Trenthas always embraced them like a champ everytime.

Opposition midfield will have to think twice to press high, giving more space for trent to dictate. If Trent solely plays the DM role, opposition will have a player man-marked him all game. Therefore, this hybrid/inverted RB is the solution, not playing another RB.
@@BloodRedLFC that's good but it makes the current team vulnerable on counters plus trent is prone to defensive errors as a RB despite how good he is. I think 3 at the back type of system like City is playing currently could work with Trent and Fab as CDMs would be perfect actually.

Trent was following in the footsteps of Gerrard, who also began as a full back, only to graduate straight to the 13/14 version of the former captain of dictating play from deep like Pirlo. Trent looked like an absolute captain against Leeds, leading by sheer quality as the hub around which the red spokes revolve.

I've said for 2 seasons now TAA needs to be in the midfield he has the capacity to dictate games and unlock defenses like StevieG used to do. His long range passing is a weapon very few can defend against. Next season complete role change and stick him in the middle of the park

All keeps going this way..Gomez will be RB, Gomez looks right at home at RB even though it's crucial to get more game time in that position, but he defends well and does have a decent run up the RW on occasions....Klopp is testing the waters, he will need to see a few good to great games from Trent around midfield, if all is well Trent will be permanently stuck on as a DM drifting..

Joe is a bad rb he goes missing loses the player and ball watches - not for me we need to sell him for 20 mill to raise funds for gleaming new cb for next year
