not sure if any of this is actually canon seeing as it was all taken out of the game but the key card reader is unfinished and in the game so all of that which was removed looks like cut content and old versions of stuff like the key which jimmy gives you and and old version of the lab, I'm assuming.
Everything in bonelab/boneworks is canon. The whole premise of the game is that it's a simulation inside a simulation,inside of a simulation. With in world devs (Monogon) and devs from the reality outside of the reality that is outside of MythOS (Stress Level Zero from our reality). this was 100% meant to be found.

I think it might be more than an Easter egg between the void key, the Truman show reference (think it’s this one), and also I think someone else said that Tuscany was used as a demo for an earlier VR system of some importance, so that’s a lot of stuff. Someone said they think that there’ll be a “B-side” essentially to Bonelab, which is a term that refers to a vinyl record’s (or a cassette’s? Idk about cassettes enough to know if they can do this) other side, which will also have another set of music. The person theorizing this said that it’d be a DLC/paid expansion, but that’s not really in the spirit of lava gang in my opinion. So I’m just expecting it to be a big post-launch update that has us delve deeper into the secrets and mysteries of Myth, Monogon, in universe Stress Level Zero, and even Gammon and the voidway at large.

It was meant to be a holodoor. Seeing as the place with tbe gym equipment has the area with the battery and all that stuff. It seems like they were gonna hide alot of lore in a sandbox explore. One of the notes even talks about Haft way park but nothing I've found connecting it
The minecart level reader unlocks the doors to the secret control room that looks like its part of some more cut/future content. I might make a quick video showing that one since the keycard unlock system seems mostly built already.

@Toast Riot I looked at the minedive reader and its actually disabled from unlocking for any keycard. You can make both work again but that area appears to also be cut content.

Melon planters are a reference to boneworks as well, as there were melon planters there in the original Tuscany. Probably cut for rendering if I had to guess bc they never served any purpose.
there is also a unused item capsule ontop of the server box in the corner close to the door it gives you a gun that you cant normaly spawn the orb lacks a hologram of it as well

Could that key card work on the mine cart part of the campaign because I saw a video where someone found a keycard in the main area and found a door in the mine set area and put it in and gave a bad beep
There's another keycard reader on mine dive that doesn't work with the card you're given on that level. Could you maybe try to see if there's any other cards that are disabled on that level?
Sometimes the nimbus in noclip mode doesnt trigger the chunk and crossing into its bounding box deletes or drops your currently held weapon. Its a little easier to just walk in.
@@taijutsugod2666 Yeah Stress Level Zero was doing lots of iteration and testing so there's lots of cut content they just didn't devote time to remove. I don't think the game was rushed to release.
THERE ARE MORE KEY CARD READERS ALONG THE GAME, THEY DO REACT TO ONE OF THE CARDS I MANAGED TO BRING IN MY INVENTORY BUT NOTHING HAPPENS IN ANY OF THEM (as far as I know)

The melon planters were in the original boneworks they might have been removed to keep consistency between quest and pcvr versions
was about the mention that, they wouldve just ported the map from boneworks so i guess they wanted to tidy up the random stuff in the distance

This could easily just be one of several other things that just doesnt load in unless you do the right steps. Like the secret in the 1st level

Yeah, its not a mod, just go to mods, then settings, enable dev mode, and restart game and youll have those 3 extra oprions
