Amanda, if you get a blackberry bush, look for Marionberries...they're from Oregon, and they are HUGE and sweeter than most other varieties... but whatever variety you get, don't plant them too close to the house. They are invasive and if not kept under tight control they can take over EVERYTHING. My friend's mother didn't keep them up, and she ended up spending a lot of money to have them removed after the bushes literally climbed over her roof!
It’s always fun when you get to hang with family. I live in Texas and we don’t have an HEB but 4 Walmart’s or neighborhood markets. I wish and HEB would come to my area

We are from Columbia, TN just about 30ish minutes maybe a little more, south of Nashville and we have blueberry and blackberry bushes! They do amazing!! In our neighborhood though, we have to protect them from birds and squirrels! Summer is FULl of black and blue pies 😍😍

I totally love the relationship you two have with your kids and family, it's very admirable for someone with a not so good relationship with their family.
