I don't think there was a lot more to do with the Saboteur. After France liberation, all the job was done by the americans and the soviets with their respective armies, no way to insert Sean there. Maybe a sequel during the Cold War in the divided Germany with Sean fighting the soviet occupiers and helping to destroy the wall, although he would be like 60 or 70 years old by that time lol

This game was a true hidden gem. Basically GTA set in WW2 Paris. Such a great game.
It was basically a mixture of GTA, Hitman, Assassin's Creed, Mercenaries and Just Cause.
Why does everything open world have to have GTA attached to it?
@@DMAGAEscober GTA did it first, it set the bar, revolutionized the genre. I suppose you could argue Driver did it first but they weren’t as impactful. I wouldn’t call all open world games GTA clones though. No ones going to say Breath of the wild or elden ring is a gta clone.

If any game deserves a remaster it's this one, especially with how they handled the visuals.
Yeah, if you look at the distant environments that aren't really close to you, the graphics are extremely subpar in this game. Definitely nothing on the same level as something like Just Cause 2, where the draw distance was immaculate and the graphics maintained a very high degree of fidelity for miles around you.

I remember this game being famous for having a dlc to see the opening with the dancer being butt booty neked. Strange times those were.
Yeah everyone acts like people paid for it all the time but the game shipped with a code. I got the tits for free.
@@WillyShankspeare I got the game years later the code actually had to many slots to fit I'm guessing,When PS3 starting developing they changed the amount of slots. And there is no footage of any of the dlc
@@knitro9043 It's nothing you can't get on Pornhub anyway. The real benefit of the dlc, still not worth 10 bucks CDN, was a car. A nice pretty car you could win in a knife throwing minigame. Glad I got that for free.

Pandemic made the most enjoyable games as a kid. Mercenaries was glitchy but so damn fun blowing stuff up and using vehicles. I miss that game so much
They also made Full Spectrum Warrior, the original Star Wars Battlefront games, and the Destroy All Humans games.
I re bought it on origin few years ago and it’s still as glitch as I remember when I used to play it as a kid on console lol

This is a game I would highly recommend playing at either the middle of fall or the end of winter sometime when it’s nice and rainy. Makes the game really come alive.

Saboteur is such a hidden underrated gem it’s a shame not a lot of people knew about it.
I’m so glad you did this game. I loved it when it came out, Pandemic was a really good studio that had the rug pulled out from under them unfortunately. You could tell they rushed to finish this game but I will always say this game was still fantastic and could have been transcendent

I remember picking up this game at random in a "remainder's bin" at a local game store, as a teen in 2010, when I was a huge fan of open world games and WW2 geek. I recalled something of the review of the game from a pc gaming magazine from an year before and it intrigued me. Bought the game and rode my bicycle back home, slammed the dvd in the reader and installed it immediately...well, not immediately, it took the regular hour/hour and a half that games took to install back then (still better than installing Heroes of MM 3 back in the Win98 days though). Spent 2,99€ for this diamond in the rough, replayed it four times, last time during the pandemic lockdown.
all this game needs now is a reboot.

I would never forgive EA for killing Pandemic. Saboteur makes me especially sad, because in Russian press this game was called "Swan song of a brilliant game devs". And it is.

God, I miss this game so much. I get depressed when people talk about it because my heart legitimately hurts that it never got a sequel. The best open world game ever made IMO

This game was my childhood. One of the best under-rated GTA style games. Hopefully Oboeshoes will look at Mercenaries 2: World in flames

The gameplay mechanic of oppressed areas being in black and white while the liberated areas being in color was pure genius.
Wine barrels leak wine when shot in Call of Duty 3 also. I remember noticing it when playing that as a kid and thinking “wow, I’m surprised they could make the game do that” lol

I love the janky hit registration on the cows where if it’s a direct hit with the rocket the gibs just fall on the ground rather than flying away like they do with splash damage, honestly not sure which is funnier lol

I adored this game. The race car becoming a James bond esque car and how the world would go from black and white to color was pretty interesting and fun
Criminally underrated game
This is legitimately one of my all time favorite games and as a teenager there was a night a friend and I pulled an all nighter and got the highest possible score in the duck hunting mini game lol.
Truly a masterpiece in my opinion.
Maybe the real Saboteurs are the friends we sabotaged along the way.
As a PC only child, I grew up watching multiple walkthroughs of this game and absolutely loved it. Good times.

You can even buy it on GoG or from EA themselves. I don't know about the DLC tho.

If its good, then go buy it and play it ;d ... i dont know for sure, but maybe better to get it on GoG rather than form EA, because GoG is DRM free, no need for a game launcher, and you have a full instalation setup if you wana just transfer it to other pc. Except the price on gog is around 20€, but on EA 5€, so maybe wait for a sale on gog. Or maybe 🏴☠️
@@enemy1191 I've tried playing it on multiple PCes but it's know for not being compatible with most PCs. None of the PCs I've tried have worked.

well, technically, the first helicopters were used in WW2, so they could appear in a WW2 game (even on either side!), but they were in very limited numbers and they never really entered the popular culture about that era the same way flying fortress, Wunderwaffen and sherman tanks did
They also weren't armed at all, and were generally only really used for transportation, and mostly in remote locations far from the front lines.

@@RedRocky54 The heli might not be arm, but there's nothing stopping you from lugging an MG-42 aboard, sticking it out the door/window and just belched lead. Hell, bring a couple box of grenades too for some explosive over pass.

One of my absolute favorite games. The gameplay, the music, the story and the atmosphere was just amazing. Such a shame Pandemic closed and we’re never gonna see anything saboteur related again. Also calling it a gta clone is a huge disgrace.

Seeing this reminds me that I need to hurry up and play this game. I bought a used copy of The Saboteur for the PS3 from a second hand game store several months ago and I still have the game sitting in my bedroom back at my mom’s house.
On a side note, I’ve been binging your videos at my job this week and they really helped pass the time.

The black and white color change was artistically brilliant, and shooting waves of ww2 Germans is always a blast

This game has always been one of the best games out and one that’s always been slept on since it’s drop back in the day. Every single thing about this game was ahead of its time but yet nobody really gave this game the true light it deserved imo.
Miss this game, was so dope, the mix of climbing, combat, the visual combo black and grey/color was really awesome imo!!

He says, "Sorry, Jules". Jules is your friend who gets killed in the beginning of the game and he apologizes to him because he can't avenge his friend if he himself dies and thus says he is sorry.

Everything Pandemic made is a master piece. Being it because its extremely good, or a complete meme, but its a master piece.
I was massively hooked on this game for a few months on release.
I remember not hearing about it but then it popped up on the shelves at work.. loads of fun!

Man I loved this game. Scaling the Parisian roof tops shooting down blimps to stealthily KO’ing Nazi guards to steal their uniform.
I still remember getting this game one Friday after school, I loved it so much I had completed it by Sunday night that weekend.

An overlooked classic. I wish there was a mod where the game stays black and white with subtle color cues the whole game.

This is probably the first PS3 open world game I owned though I didn't get my PS3 until a couple of years after it came out. I had so much fun with this. Its among the few open world PS3 games I actually completed more then once, and re completed after being forced to reset my PS3 to factory spec years ago. I think closing down Pandemic might be the most vile act EA committed prior to the eighth console generation.

It's literally a game set in open world paris where you play as an Irishman killing Nazis. The only issue I had with the game was the voice actors' terrible irish accent

I played this when it came out and LOVED it. Its a real shame it wasn't more popular
You preceded to use an anti-aircraft artillery cannon to attack ground targets, before attacking the blimp. IRL it did both but required different ammo, mounts, sights, and configurations. Was originally designed to shoot high flying aircraft before they realized it’s the best anti-armor weapon they have early on

Fun fact: The Saboteur is the first game on 7th gen consoles (PS3 only actually) that dropped MSAA to specifically implement a high quality post-processing option ... NOT FXAA, but AMD's MLAA. So there's that.
