  • Introducing the PARD NV 019
    The test footage starts @08:17 with us viewing the (unmodified) PARD019, measuring the Field of View (FOV) and comparing it to the Hand-held 25mm budget spotter.
    Then @25:00 Bruce and I tested them both again a few nights later, in a bunny-filled paddock on one of my Permissions. These rabbits are at FAC Air-rifle ranges, i.e. out to 50-60m.
    @30:15 I’ve spliced-in Bruce’s footage, demonstrating how sensitive the 019 is when the eye can no longer see -as darkness fell.
    @32:00 Bruce is tracking a Fox first with the 019’s in-built IR illuminator, then after extending it’s useful range with his Syrius XTL external add-on illuminator, at 350-400 yards.
    @36:05 he compares the optical & digital zoom functionality during daylight.
    Finally @38:59 I’m using the modified PARD019 to show how good it now is up against the eye, as the Designers originally intended. This is possible thanks to an eyepiece focussing lens modification by CustomRifleScopes.com.
    Thanks very much to Ash of CustomRiflescopes.com for the loan of my PARD NV 019: www.customrifl...
    …and also the (even cheaper, but shorter-range) 25mm NV/IR Spotter: www.customrifl...
    Bruce’s PARD008 was kindly loaned by Ian Blackwood of Blackwood Outdoors: www.blackwoodo...
    Bruce’s Syrius XTL IR Illuminator (designed for add-on NV units like the PARD007 and PARD019), which he rigged onto the underside of the PARD019 using a short length of Picatinny rail and a Burris Signature Zee Ring: www.blackwoodo...
    My apologies that my (red) captions keep getting cropped slightly left & right; I've tweaked and reprocessed this twice, but can't quite fix that.
    BTW the NightVisionForumUk is here: nightvisionfor...

    Hey Russ decided to give one of these a go, could you tell me if the unit has a picatinny rail on it anywhere, or did Bruce put one on himself

    • @RussDouglas222

      Hi flazzy Bruce added the shirt section of Picatinny rail himself to the ¼" tripod adapter socket on the underside.
      Good luck and thanks for watching, cheers. Russ

    Don't understand why pard use such bad illuminators on their products, like I'd rather spend a bit more on it to come with a decent one instead of having to buy another PBIR-L or Sirius and have to mount it on it, seems an odd thing to do when the rest of the product is really good

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it's a decent enough IR lamp for short-range airgun use and pioneering when it came out, but you're right for anything longer range (or any longer sessions) I prefer to use an add-on IR torch, ideally a 940nm from Ludicrous Lumens.
      The benefits of one Pard(e.g. 008LRF) battery lasting all night (and avoiding the audio interference that's recorded when the pard battery gets down to one bar), plus having a more covert IR lamp -are worthwhile for me... though I attach the torch to my scope rail or rifle & not the Pard's weaver rail.
      Cheers. Russ

    I've bought a Pard NV0019 tried it on the field its good. Can you advise on how to mount the ad card as mine wont recognise. I bought a 128GB as recommended I formatted it in my pc but it won't recognise on the Pard.

    • @RussDouglas222
      @RussDouglas222  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I automatically used a 128GB (as I use on my PARD007 & 008), but Ash at Customriflescopes.com advised me to stick to no more than an 8GB card for the 019.
