I thought the reason why Kimiko didn't want to sing this song is because it was originally written in English. Maybe canonically, Ginger Root wrote the Japanese version for her some time after Kimiko finally came back in showbusiness and did their collab in "Everything's Alright." The storyline in the Nisemono EP runs deep...

Maybe because she was making her Stateside debut they expected her to sing in English but she didn’t feel comfortable with her pronunciation.
