    One thing I learned years ago, and it really messes up your supervisors, is three things. Accept responsibility for your mistakes, describe what you learned from your mistake, and lastly how you will move forward with your practice. Really messes up your supervisors because they are accustomed to people lying and/or blaming other people. Completely disarms the supervisor because they usually show up with both guns loaded and suddenly they don't know how to respond.

    I already watch a lot of your videos but I’ll now be binge watching your channel to try learn as much as possible because I’ll have to replace basically all the gutters, bottom of the fenders, sills and floors in mine.

    I was taught to do my welds far apart moving from one end and going to the other to keep the panel from warping.
    But this idea of doing the welds and moving across the whole weld, grinding as you go, makes more sense than letting the part get cold and then going back and grinding, as the grinding is happening when the part is still warm due to the weld, as when you grind it it warms back up and lets the weld cool slower.
    It just makes more sense.

    • @CarterAutoRestyling
      @CarterAutoRestyling  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      On this repair I actually did it the way you were taught, keeping the panel as cool as possible and grinding afterwards. The other method I've shown of welding and grinding probably would have worked, however the front of the hood is quite flimsy and I don't have access to the back to hammer the welds, so I chose to play it safe.
