  • Pavel Datsyuk Stickhandling Training - Was He Only Average?
    In this video, I’m going to explain why you probably have more talent than Datsyuk.
    Yes, that’s right.
    You have more talent than Datsyuk.
    You’re probably watching these clips right now and thinking that I’m nuts. And you’re right.
    Datsyuk wasn’t known as the magic man because he had more talent and skill. He was known as the magic man because he had magic mechanics.
    His mechanics allowed him to use less skill to achieve more magic.
    Confused?
    Did you know that cross country skiers have way more aerobic capacity than runners? So their lungs and hearts can process oxygen way better than runners.
    But if you put a skier in a race with a runner - the runner wins every time.
    Why? Because the runner has better mechanics.
    Datsyuk has better mechanics than most players. At Train 2.0 we call them magic mechanics.
    His mechanics literally make it EASY for him to display magical skill.
    Your mechanics make it hard to display magical skill. You’ve practiced all these drills to develop your hands, but the mechanics you are using are making it really hard. Kind of like the skier trying to run.
    The most important part of Datsyuk’s magic mechanics is his hip movements. Everyone thinks he has the best hands. He really has the best hips.
    The two things he did better than anyone is the hip scissor and the 45 degree step. I’ve mentioned both in my McDavid and Karlsson video breakdowns.
    What if you had more talent and skill than Datsyuk and you had just been taught the wrong mechanics? What if there was a way to literally make a quantum leap in your development?
    Then click the link to here to get the free training which just might give you that quantum leap.

    Stickhandling is 80% knowing what to do. Anyone can do the Patrick Kane stickhandling, the trick is doing something with it in a game. Regardless of hips or mechanics, it is literally just reading and reacting. You need minimal skill and practice to execute the moves. That's why datsyuk is the best. He knew what to do every time. You can't teach that. It's a sixth sense and he had a better sense for it than anyone else who's ever played.

    Even if Datsyuk had average stick handling, which he didn't, it's still about how you use your hands, and obviously he was on a entire level above everyone else.

      SKATING SKATING SKATING people!! Don't get mesmerized by the puck and stick like everybody else. It starts with SUPERIOR SKATING. Crosby Has it. Datsyuk Has it. Briere, Marchand, St. Louis--the guys that are too small--and all the 6'6" guys and THE BIG Z Zdeno Chara all have it for their size and that's what makes the difference. Everyone just somehow forgets the importance of Skating in Hockey or ASSUMES ALL NHL PLAYERS HAVE THE SAME LEVEL OF SKATING SKILL. THEY DON'T!!! Not even close!!!

    Economy of motion, as well. Don't do things the hard way / Expend as little energy as necessary to get it done. He always looks so effortless and nonchalant even while doing silly nonsensical dekes around 3 or 4 defenders. Dafuq... Favorite player

    Ummmm.... You are nuts hahahah. He does have more talent and skill. Which Maybe mechanics falls under that category.. But the things you said are just wrong. I like you're videos! But I can't take you seriously when you say brash things.

      dustin stockdale You're probably right. And I'm hoping it got you thinking at least!
      The point I'm making is that a lot of people are using mechanics that make it way more challenging to execute basic skills. Datsyuk doesn't. That allows him to execute his skill flawlessly.
      Don't take me too seriously anyway. Appreciate the comment!

    He mastered simple mechanics which compliment his natural talents. What he is doing though is very hard to do in game because of the split second decisions. You didn't really touch on vision, hockey IQ, as well as reaction time. All of these, plus the amount of effort he puts into his craft is what makes him a great hockey player. You can say he has average skills in different facets of the game, but his highlights show he is well above average.

  • @rangdipkin6826
    @rangdipkin6826 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Every player in the NHL who has either played against or with Pavel Datsyuk speaks to Pavel's insane skill. His hockey IQ was insanely high. Stickhandling involves movement with the puck, and at that he was extremely skilled. Wayne Gretzky also relied heavily on his hockey IQ, and I bet you wouldn't call Gretzky unskilled because of it

    This video went over sooo many idiots heads. He's not hating on datsyuk. He's actually on to something. There's minor leaguers who are faster or train as hard or harder than nhl'er, but won't ever be stars. Same issue... body mechanics

    I've seen a couple of your video and it seems like you really want to bring new ideas to the game... much so that what you say becomes lunatic. All that stuff is made up to sell your program. Two concepts are commonly used in sport to describe athletes : talent and effort. The combination of those two will make your play evolve on both mechanic and vision aspects of the game. Mechanic is than a result of the combination talent + effort. Also, your vid on the wide drive... c'mon man!! Your describe two different situation! There is on way to make a wide drive.. it's driving wide! The real secret is to try to get the defender not to open his hip up until it's too late and you shift him. A lot of time, you will achieve this by setting him up with inside cuts.

    This is so dumb--hockey and stickhandling has ALWAYS BEEN THE INTEGRATION OF SKATING and things you do with the stick. You're trying to sell people stuff; I get it--why don't you just tell the TRUTH which is that for most players who are VERY GOOD, hockey is 97% SKATING and 3% Stickhandling, but for players who are GREAT, it's because they are VERY EXCEPTIONAL SKATERS--Datsyuk is both; it's really 98% vs. 2% because they can move in space ways that other players can't; protecting the puck/getting open/releasing passes or shots etc. etc. etc. more easily because they create more time and space for themselves thru superior AGILITY on Skates and FLUIDITY mixing Skating with Stickwork?!?! Everyone obsesses Stickhandling Stickhandling Stickhandling!! Then they ocassionally talk about "Edgework." HOCKEY IS ABOUT SKATING--always has been; always will be. Good luck with your sales job on your simple "outrageous headline" post. You can do much better than this, Knucklehead

      @v1sualizewhirledpeas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't even mention the word "Skating" or "Edgework" in your lousy video. Are you talking about SKATING Mechanics or Stickhandling Mechanics?!?!?! There are Mechanics for both and you know it. There's a better way to do this Yee-Hawww!! All you got me thinking was what an NARCISSISTIC idiot this guy is, thinking he's exceptionally clever but really basically REVERSE-TROLLING people who search Datsyuk on TH-cam. You're just a Troll in the opposite way. If you can teach Superior Skating "MECHANICS" then you can do better TH-cam advertising for yourself as well, otherwise your business won't last long.

    • @Train2point0
      @Train2point0  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nate Swearingen I don’t apologize for asking for attention. If you’re upset by my videos, I’m truly not trying to do that, but I also understand my videos are not for everyone. That said, you can Search how to skate like Connor McDavid and you’ll see several videos on skating mechanics including a 45 min presentation of all my ideas on skating mechanics. Search how to stickhandle like Patrick Kane and you’ll see another 40 min presentation on stickhandling mechanics. But you’re right, I do intend to capture attention. And I do intend to present a contrarian view. I welcome you to judge me on all my work.

      OK well, I would never send my kid to a Skating or Stickhandling School or ANYWHERE that uses TMZ and Tabloid-style Provacotive FALSEHOODS, Deception and Outrageous Statements to "Advertise" and get attention. But it's 2018. How "successful" are you??? Do you make a living and support yourself and/or Family on a life of Hockey-related activities?!?! If you do then more Power to ya, but otherwise you're not worth any more of my time. Actually Mr. Yee why don't you show me video of YOU ACTUALLY PLAYING Hockey at, say, Major Junior Level or above. Just Tell me what jersey # to look for and white or dark. THAT IS WORK WORTH JUDGING YOU ON.

      Nate Swearingen Hey Nate, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and have this discussion. I don’t think I’m the coach for you. And I don’t want to waste your time. All the best to you and your kid :) I’m glad you’re passionate about the game too!

    Do you have great clickbait titles or are you just an average youtuber? I admit that your nonsensical idiotic title got me to bite, but the content was garbage. Every aspect or his game was well above average. Passing, stickhandling, defense, wrists, hands, hips, head, skating, wrist shot, avoiding hits. Maybe faceoffs. Don't remember.
