Such a heartwarming documentary, I got goosebumps the whole time. I'm saving money to come to Brooklyn in January 2025 and see Dennis play there, that would be a dream come true. 😍
😂 I went last January to Chicago to grant two wishes. One Time sees a basketball game in the "legendary" Bulls Stadium to have some Jordan feelings and to see Dennis one time playing in the NBA. He played with the Raptors against the Bulls. It was an expensive experience, but it was worth every penny. I wish you all the best and enjoy it.
i love that this mini doc is just about Dennis and Braunschweig and only the last 5 minutes you hear the Brooklyn Nets. I always liked him at the Lakers. Never knew anything about him.
I'm not even a Brooklyn Nets fan but I watched this thing the WHOLE way through. What a motivating and heart-warming story. And really huge props to the Nets organisation for doing this and giving us an insight into Dennis Schroder the person behind the star. I respect him even more now. 👏
That Livio guy is the true hero of the story. To see talent and take Dennis under his wing is probably the one thing that changed his whole life. As for racism, all they can do is hate and talk, however, even they can't stand in front of his dreams. His success puts salt in their wounds. Also amazing that he reinvested in his home town and saved the club/people that got him where he is.
We love you in Brooklyn Dennis. Everything you bring on and off the court is valued. I’m very happy and pleased to have watched this documentary. Shout out to all the people involved. Your story is truly inspirational.
I, like many other people got on him because of the contract situation. But I’ve gained WAY more respect for him. He came from real humble beginnings but always bet on himself. Growing up black in Germany. Skateboarder/basketball player. Much respect.
it’s hard not to like this guy. his upbringing, his family values along with his preparation to stay healfhy + his production/marketing team. everything is fye & done correctly. hope he brought his sprinter van to BK👌🏾
@ that’s odd, I don’t see people with African decent keep Caucasian German surnames. I’m pretty sure his Dad is not a Caucasian German. So it’s odd ???
I wouldn't call that "adversity" as his former teammate and later colleague called, other than fact his adoptive father died. He grew up skateboarding and playing sports and clowning around that doesnt sound much like a tough childhood and with his mom and other family around, the coach who mentored, guided, developed him (SO important) I'd say Dennis was VERY lucky, which explains why he felt so compelled to take on such a risk to GIVE BACK, buying a failing franchise when he's a career journeyman in the NBA, not on superstar salary or guaranteed contracts. Dennis knows how fortunate he's been in this life and he's not going to waste any opportunity.
Amazing guy and amazing family he is from. Being German myself, I am very proud of him and our country that these careers are possible in our society. Peeze, freedom and respect to everyone is the foundation for all good things.
I didn’t even know about this guy until this video. Thank you for highlighting his journey. It’s something to look up to and behold. Dennis mentioning about skateboarding and how it made him feel and everything, I get it, skateboarding means a lot more than words. He loves basketball and want to have basketball forever in his life. He does everything from his heart. You’re a beautiful person Dennis. Keep being you and don’t ever change. Be the best
Dennis is the personification of energy, leadership, humbleness and really just a beautiful human being.I have become a big fan. That backcourt with him and Cameron is second to none.Nets have a shot to make some noise, don’t sleep on them.
Wow! A great human! A hard time growing up from nobody like you to show how great you are ! More than respect for your goals in life and the way you live! Blessings to your family and you for the rest of your life!
Props to dennis and his fam!! Nowadays you gotta have all the accomplishments to get recognize, not only on basketball. He’ll forever gonna be underrated but not for me cause he’s undefeated in life.
Danke Dennis!
