4 years ago, I wrote that I hope to make this . . . *well, I did it!* Will be sending it out soon : )) I made a slight change in the neck area. I made a final "shrinkage" in the neck area ~ a decrease of 5 stitches (10 total) on each side to gently hug the neck. *Thank you!*
Hi Crystal. My name is Jasmine. I love all your tuturiols. You explain everything so clearing. Step by step. And your videos are all clear. I love all your work. I am subcribed to alot of people but you are my favorite. Keep up the good work. I am going to try to make this hood. I love it
Love this...I made it for a friend in her favorite Dallas Cowboys colors. I tried posting a pic on Facebook page but didn't see it up there. But I did minor changes..like instead of DC the blue part I did a hdc for a tighter stitch. I also chained 93 in the beginning, probably would have been fine with 83 but it still turned out great. I think it was my favorite hat I made all year. Thanks Crystal.
Another wonderfully done video so easy to follow. Guess I'm off to get yarn. I need a lot have a few of your projects I want to do. I made the hat with the puff stitch so now this will be easy. Just have to decide colors now ugh.
I really like this. Could you perhaps not do white yarn on a white background next time? It can be hard for old eyes to see. LOL! Thank you. Love your work.
Thank you, this is lovely! What size child does this one fits? I need to make one for our 8 year old and our 11 year old granddaughters but I cannot measure them, they live in another State. Could someone help me with how many chains I need to start for both sizes please, I will appreciate it. Thank you
If I wanted to make this bigger do I need to make it in multiples of 2 or 3? You had 63 ch but if I wanted it bigger say about 72? Would that work or do I need to chain 73 to start
I was wondering the same but I don't think you need any multiple, since you are putting one puff stitch in each chain anyway. I am starting with 73 because I want to make it bigger as well :) EDIT: So this is the child size! I am using a 6mm hook, and even then, I had to chain 93 for the row to reach from one side of my neck, over my head, and to the other side of my neck. So just measure your chain, and remember you are adding a row of SC at the bottom anyway. Good luck :D
Thank you... I love your vids I'm new at crocheting and I can still follow along :O) .. Do you think you can make a vid explaining how to make a hood like this one or similar with a scarf attached.. A hooded scarf.. Thanks, Cristina
Puff stitch is the devil! It's the only stitch that not only can I NOT do but I actually hurt my wrists for days severely fighting this dang stitch lol! And I want to make puff items SOOOOOO BAD!!!!

I'm useless at pompoms, I think I'll do braided straps instead. looking forward to making a few of these, thanks for the tutorial. great as always x x
I suck at all that, too. But I think I am putting tassels at the ends of my strap. I hate pompoms. I can never cut them even enough :P

Is there a good way to attach a hood like this to a cocoon/shrug cardigan?
can you attach it to a sweater?
Hi Crystal! I have a technical question to ask you; does it matter which way you turn at the end of a row? Is there a difference?
It gets very cold where I live and this hat is just what I need to keep me nice and warm all winter. TY Chrystal 👍🏻💕👍🏻 Vickie
Can a beginner make this hat as well?
love this very simple and easy to follow. would this fit an adult or is a child size?
Very nice 😘😘😘👑
Thanks
Can I make it smaller for a child's head how would I do that I would measure the length of the chain right
Jeanette Duncan yes, the length of the chain
I'm struggling on a child's hat size aswell

I believe you can either chain 73 or you can use a bigger size hook
