Hi guys! So we got the combine started the next day. There was some air in the system after fuel filters were changed. There’s a little pump near the filter housing and after pumping that on turn over it fired up 👍 Also, it’s been one year since I did my first video! Thanks for all of the support!! 😁
Love your content guys. A couple of items to consider for machinery that sits idle for extended periods (ie. more than a week or so.) 1) Battery Tender. These are electronic devices that are connected to mains power, and constantly monitor the state of vehicle batteries. As soon as voltage drops below optimal, they apply a trickle charge, bringing the battery back to full power. By keeping the battery voltage always within the optimal range they not only prevent flat-battery problems when you try to start up, they also maximise the life of the battery by preventing sulfation - the formation of lead-acid crystals. 2) Fuel stabilisers. Ideally all fuel (diesel or petrol as appropriate) would be drained from any vehicle sitting unused for more than a month or so. If that is impractical, then I would suggest the addition of an appropriate fuel stabiliser additive. I learned these lessons caring for a fleet of motorcycles in the midwest US, where bikes would often sit for several months over the winter. The last day of riding was ALWAYS followed by: 1) oil change, 2) fuel drain; 3) hook up to the Battery Tender. Every one of my bikes started up first try the following spring.
Great to see you get your sheep of the wet ground. We don't have a shed to put our sheep in so need to feed them out side. That old byre will look great once you have it sorted out Nick. Morning like I said on another farming channel everyone with livestock looks after their animals as there are your other family. Your girls will be happy there are in the warm. Looks like your little ones going to be the next farmers of the future

And I agree about them flippin' balloons - they should be banned or be forced to pay a 'return deposit' so when you clean them up you can return them and get the return fee. I would probably change all the fuel filters first modern diesel at the moment is terrible for clogging up filters and being a combine that sits idel all winter the diesel might have gone stale
