I dry it with other herbs and make mixed blends. I infuse it with olive oil, butters and vinegars. All of which make great gifts as well when I have to much!
I like to make hair oil with rosemary (infusing it in olive oil/ almond oil for 8 weeks, shaking it daily) and hair rinse (pour hot boiling water to about two tablespoons of rosemary, letting it steep until lukewarm and using it as my last rinses after having washing out the shampoo).
I use it as a tonic to relax my nerves, it works very well, as it's full of vital nutrients. Something else I use it for is a hair rinse. It works wonders for the scalp and hair. God bless you.
Awesome herbal tea! Mixed with peppermint ginger root cinnamon. Whole cloves, grated apple, lemon zest. Yummmy! I also do one with thyme oregano rosemary mint lime juice lemon zest & lemon juice. Lightly sweeten with honey or monk fruit sugar. Hot or iced its awesome!
I've been using my (very little!) rosemary pruning to make tea. A mounded teaspoon of fresh rosemary leaves which I cut into smaller pieces with my kitchen shears is good for a decent size mug. Put in a tea infuser in your mug, pour boiling water over and let steep for 5 minutes. I've read that steeping longer gives a bitter taste. Said to be anti-aging and good for cognition -- anyway, those are my hopes! :-)
I've definitely heard those benefits of rosemary, too. Yes, steeping it can make it bitter. But it is worth a try. If it does for you, a little mint added in toward the end may help prevent that.
You are welcome, Elizabeth! And super fun idea about the shoots. We accidentally found that out with our sweet basil this year, too! (Unfortunately after I made the basil video ... hmmm...sounds like I need to do a video on rooting these) 🙂

You can make a new plant out of the stems. You just need to cut a single stem and put it in water for a month (until it grows roots) then put it in some dirt. I would watch some TH-cam videos on Rosemary propagation. It’s so easy
Thank you for this. I bought a plant in April and put it in a container at the end of a garden box and it is growing so nicely. I wanted to add another one or two. Will definitely try this!
You can use rosemary for tinctures, infuse it in oils for cooking or as a hair product, make salves with it, make tea, sachets for your drawers, use it in bath salts.
That's a great question haydeh. We found that Arp rosemary was more cold hardy for our area, so this plant was able to grow for a few years. Definitely check with your local nurseries to find what variety could work for Minneapolis winters, even if you have to pot it and bring it in some.

ViREO Life ......well I actually bought a small rosemary plant and intend to use it in my cooking.....especially since I’m cooking all meals at the moment! May use some of the other ideas. I like using it with as greenery with flowers.
@@jbryson4666 Yes, I love it as greenery with flowers. And glad you are cooking your meals right now. Hope you are well.

Aloha hugs waited all this time on my watch later list & only saw 4 way to use it plus your head was cut off
Which made you video fun to watch going out to harvest mine now. I have many new one starting. See my garden some day
Kathy, that's interesting that you saw it with my head cut off 🙂 Enjoy using all that you harvest and starting new ones.
I chop it up small and ad it to salad or dressing.
Wow! As much as I cook with it I'd never thought of adding it to a dressing. Thanks for sharing your idea. :-)

SPRIGS! You remembered on your own. Im typing as I listen to your video....😂 i was gong to remind you, but you got it...
How fun is that.
You can make a new plant out of the stems. You just need to cut a single stem and put it in water for a month (until it grows roots) then put it in some dirt. I would watch some TH-cam videos on Rosemary propagation. It’s so easy
Lizette - fabulous idea! Thank you for sharing this with everyone.
Thank you for this. I bought a plant in April and put it in a container at the end of a garden box and it is growing so nicely. I wanted to add another one or two. Will definitely try this!
thank you. I tried it for 1 week, looked at it starting to dry and say, naa
thanks
You are welcome!
I bet you could've rooted the stem and made the leftover woody parts into a live bonsai
Lovely idea ... a bonsai from a rosemary bush.
Good information
Jamila, thank you. Glad it is helpful.
You can use rosemary for tinctures, infuse it in oils for cooking or as a hair product, make salves with it, make tea, sachets for your drawers, use it in bath salts.
Lee what a great idea for the bath salts, too! What do you like to use it in salves for?
@@ViREOLife I use it for muscle relief
@@leeclews7731 perfect!
Give them to garbage collectors on garbage days. They ♡love the fragrance of rosemary on garbage days.
That's creative and caring! Great idea.
How do you get that much ? I would love to have that much rosemary! We live in Minneapolis
That's a great question haydeh. We found that Arp rosemary was more cold hardy for our area, so this plant was able to grow for a few years. Definitely check with your local nurseries to find what variety could work for Minneapolis winters, even if you have to pot it and bring it in some.
Thanks Gorgeous
A make a vinegar rinse for my hair when it is dark.
Wow. Didn't know it could do that.
@@ViREOLife Rosemary with either vinegar or olive oil, (I saw someone had mentioned the oil on your post earlier. I didn't want to repeat...) for dark hair. Chamomile with acv and olive olive oil for blonde :) I've used this for 40 plus years and its awesome. I don't use conditioner in my long hair, just olive oil and rosemary, sometimes lavender, every other week or so and I rinse with acv and rosemary after shampooing.
@@dandelionhaven8592 very cool idea
Dry it for storage. Make rosemary oil or an extract. A tea with lemon for brain function and paralysis prevention......
Beverly - love the idea of rosemary with lemon!
