The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 opened up a new chapter in the brand’s history, being the first all-new motorcycle to be born out of the J-platform. It set new benchmarks for the brand’s 350cc lineup in terms of refinement and performance. Taking delivery of a brand-new motorcycle, scooter or even a moped is an experience of pure happiness to the owner. With the festive season, it is an even more auspicious occasion for some. However, one has to be alert to ensure that the new product isn’t faulty or the dealership isn’t dodgy with the deal. We share some of the tips to ensure the whole delivery process goes smoothly without any issues.

Things to check:
1. Paint and Scratches - no warranty on mat colors.
2. Rusting
3. Process Documentation - engine numbers, chassis number etc, Warranty on leg guard,
4. Free Helmet
5. Unusual noise from engine
6. Wheel alignment - wobble at 30-35kmph
7. Odometer reading - max 10kms
8. Side Panel box - Fuse Box (3 additional), First Ais Kit
9. Electrical sand switches - no warranty on bulbs
10. Battery and tyres - check the date on both. 1 year warranty on battery. Max 3-4 months old tyres.

Pre Delivery Inspection Points:
1. Check paint, scratches, marks, paint chip all over in and out. Write down the engine and Chassis number from vehicle seperately.
2. Check Rusting - Engine, bolts, Exhaust, fuel tank, Inside of fuel cap, Chain, Chain cover, under sump guard, inside rubber of fork covers, inside levers and at all hidden spaces that are under the vehicle.
3. Check Engine noise and wheel alignment.
4. Check the complete instrument panel, it’s features, functions, odometer value and phone charging point by using it with cable.
5. Check headlamp, indicators, brake light and associated switches.
6. Check Engine oil level by giving raise on neutral - Shouldn’t be less than 60%. Check brake oil level too (front and back both).
7. Check Fuse box + First Aid Kit + Tool kit. - should be inside the side panel. Must have intact fitting of fuses along with 3 extra fuses.
8. Tyres - Check condition along with manufacturing date. (Should not be over past 3 months)
9. Battery - Always has one year warranty. Ask about the vendor of battery and ask for warranty paper of battery. Check manufacturing date of batter. (Shouldn’t be over 6 months)
10. Helmet should be free.
10. Documentation
a) Engine and Chassis number must match with all the slips/receipts/insurance paper/ Zero dep RTI Cover Paper and all other papers or invoices.
b) Take warranty paper for all accessories.
c) Take all insurance associated paper and ask about it’s validity. Check validity dates on paper and ask about the process and steps of claims. Associated offices of claims and paper needed for claim. Check if the insurance has Zero dep RTI Cover.
d) Take all RTO associated papers. Check each and every details in paper minutely for dates, numbers and spelling errors if any.
e) Take clarification about RC receiving date and any steps associated to follow up if not received on time

One important thing to notice. Make sure you check for first aid kit inside, mostly they don't put that inside bike battery compartment. So always check

I wish I had come across your channel before I took the delivery of my Meteor Fireball Red in Bangalore.
I see a minute black dot in the tank paint (which looks like a paint defect), and also the Odometer reading was at 14km before I took the delivery. I assumed the dealership would have done some test ride. Not sure whether this was a potential cause for concern or not.

Odometer reading - max 10kms , my one is 20 km but it used to deliver the bike from the main store to local store only

Sir avi ki baat hai, main sept 28, 2022 ko classic 350 lene wala hu. Jab me unko bola ki mujhe PDI krni hai, dealers ne bola abhi Royal Enfield ne Customer end se hone wali PDI hata diya hai.. customer ka koi signature zaroori abhi nhi hota hai.. I'm very confuse sir, please help.

Very nicely explained Nitin Sir..please guide me..I am confused btwn Classic stealth black and Meteor Steller black..which is good for long touring/ 350-400 km a day and on some bad roads hasslefree? better luggage capacity, comfort and suspension are my priorities..If not among these would Himalyan be good? Thanks in advance sir
Meteor is good would defo recommend it. And if you are further confused then have test drives of all 3 bikes

You can take the delibery that will not be a problem just follow the checklist

Many dealerships asks to pay the remaining amount (other than 10 k) in advance.They says, because of some new RTO rules, we cannot deliver the bike without number plate. And for number plate payment karna jaruri hai bolte.
Never do that before delivery as they are trying to block your money so that you may not be able to buy the bike from elsewhere. Resgister a Complaint about the dealer at RE care . they will take appropriate action and never let them close the complaint.

What I meant is, bike has arrived at the showroom. The dealership asked me to make the payment (which I made) and said that as per the new RTO rules in Pune they cannot deliver the bike unless and until the number plate work is done. They said that it will take some 10-12 days. After that they will deliver the bike.
Pre Delivery inspection should be done before the payment I believe. But I did not get any such chance to inspect my bike. And at delivery day, I found colour issue on fuel tank.

My bike is going to be delivered tomorrow i.e. the day of raksha bandhan.
I have been waiting for 175 days which is almost 6 months.

I have put my bike on main stand. Start the bike, apply gear and listen some kind of irritating unsual sound from front chain & sprocket.. Very disappointing 😡😠

But showrooms cover the bike and give you bike key as a formality post making all payments..So, how to ask of PDI
Sir PDI is ur right and you can ask the showroom for the same .
If the dealer is asking for full payment before showing the bike, what to do? How will we do the pre-inspection?
Dealer says only once the payment is done they can get the bike from state depot to showroom? Kindly advise.
No Sir this is a wrong practise if you have booked the bike it will come to showrrom first and then he can ask you for the payment , if he says something else then there is suspicion for sure .

Sir I booked classic reborn on 9/9/21 and tentative delivery is 24/10/21. But on 04/10/21 I called customer care they said still vechile not manufacturered (mine is customized). Is there any idea how long it takes or they going delivery within tentative date.
Sir deliveries are delayed as there is a production crisis in RE plants at the moment.

Brother odometer is not resetable by the dealer as well. And for the engine number a detailed video is coming up very soon.
