If you’re going from Huey to Hind don’t forget the torque reaction from the blades is reversed in the Hind. Huey blades spin counter clockwise, Hind spins the opposite. Really screws you up if you got muscle memory for a heavy left boot in the Huey

Its just a hard aircraft to fly i don't know how much times my blades broke off LOL I still love it! Just have to play around with the controls.

Love to see you guys in the HIND!
GR-Videos got me to look in the direction of DCS and when I first saw the pre-order Video of the HIND, the guys form ED got me...
May I ask, what you recommend more for a bloody noob in flight sims who thought to start right with helicopters... "Get a head tracker" or "Get some pedals and stop trying it with the wannabe-rudder on your Thrust-stick!"
Would absolutely love to "live-learn" from you guys! But... yours are way the best tutorials!!!

Hey, I am with the Grim Reapers Gravity Helicopters. The best thing is to make sure you have a Good Hotas ( at least an x-52 bare minimum ) Rudder Petals and Definetly Head Tracking.

      @@Pimps-R-us hey, thanks!
That's what I thought... you can't fly properly without looking where you want to fly to... doing this with the 8-way knobs on ny stick... it's doable but a bit difficult for me.
And a heli-pilot seems to be constantly working with the pedals. Doing this with the "pedal-switch" on my throttle... this is really a challenge ;)

The easiest way to fly Russian choppers in DCS is just to do the opposite of what you'd do in the Huey, as the rotor spins in the opposite direction.

Ah, I was flying the huey, and somehow I struggle to keep control over the mi24 just after take-off. The aircraft seems to fly around in some random directions before before it hovers.
      Thx for the info 😆

I spent all night crashing and being unable to control #dcsworld hind module. I followed everything here.. except as soon as my wheel left the ground: I spin to the left out of control, as if i had left rudder to 1,000%. I tried everything: change binding, add deadzone, change sensitivity... nothing... I could not take off without losing control. After being fed up, I tried taking the tutorial. Everything worked as expected. No spinning out of control upon takeoff. I had been using "Instant Action". So I went and created a map of my own... Same startup, same map (nevada), same everything. Suddenly everything was working as it should be.
What an absolutely terrible bug! I confirmed this by going back into "create instant action" mission 2 more times and yet again spun out of control upon takeoff. Ending up in crashing the hind. So then I went and created a new mission in the editor: once more: smooth sailing. I spent 4 hours last night trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. ☹

    • @pythontest512
      @pythontest512 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I had this with the cold start and taxi mission today. As soon as my front wheel stopped touching the ground the hind started nose diving to the left to end up on it's side.
I was pleased to see that the hind is indestructible in that tutorial mission so i had plenty of time to try and get it right without restarting. I did not get it right.
After about 30 minutes of frustration, trying different things to figure out what i was doing wrong i quit the mission and started the takeoff mission and i took off without a problem. Well, in comparison to the previous mission.
I even performed a successful controlled crash. I lost my tail but i could walk away from it so it was a good landing.
So yea, i'm not sure what was wrong but it was really annoying.
I'm glad to read i'm not the only one experiencing this even though it's 2 years later and it still happens which is kind of sad.

I think the flight model is too twitchy at this early stage. The Hind has a huge top heavy mass and huge rotors. These shouldn't translate to a twitchy aircraft. Does the Hercules have a twitchy flight envelope?

    • @Rokaize
