Close your eyes and listen, and if you're old enough you will hear such greatness in this music, especially Phil's vocals. He reminds me of Paul Rodgers in such a way I can literally see Paul's face while he sings. This is a rock god in the making. I hope they make it to the big time here in the USA. I just found them opening for BBS 2 weeks ago in Chicago, and I just cannot get enough of them. TTM is definitely one of the best bands to come along in a LONG time. Play on boys, play on!!
Ok...this is how good this band is....I NEVER comment on bands in here....but I just had to this time! Friggin awesome band!!! My absolutely new favorite!!!
jancsalter they're amazing live. here's something I recorded in May 2014, road testing new material for their forthcoming 2nd album, due out later this year. th-cam.com/video/w5Fu8MR6TH0/w-d-xo.html
thanks Steve....yeah when I saw the first video and loved it so much, I sat here and watched any and all I could on them!! I am so glad I just so happened to stumble upon them! I feel like I have been living under a rock for not knowing about them before now...lol!
Love this band, Absolutely love their music. Awesome fricckin' live band. That voice, Paul's style/technique, the writing capabilities here...man, the harmony, the playing is really, Really Good, tight end rhythm, lyrically - amazing - the truth is in the music - not every band's lyricist, Has such passion & prowess to state the obvious, but in such a way that we get carried up in the emotion he's singing with. Such a personal musical stance. Shame the music stopped...🎼🎼🎼🎼(F! I wanted More...🎼!)
seen them 6 times in the uk.. the are getting big in the usa and canada..1st time i saw them 30 odd people there!! going to see them again in 3 weeks!!
Es tut immer wieder gut, Musik zu hören - bei all dem Dreck, der heutzutage meine Ohren beschmutzt. It's always good to hear music - with all the dirt that pollutes my ears these days.
These guys are great! I hope they come to the States soon! Course I'm a bit biased as Phil is married to one of my dear friends in Scotland :) Phil and Paul are two of the coolest, most down to earth guys you will ever meet. No ego's here, just pure Rock and Roll and that is so refreshing for a change.
Hi Lee, Phil and TTM are on their way to the USA. They have a short tour pencilled in for early 2015. They're an amazing band to see live. Truly special. Phil is a fantastic singer song writer. Here's something I recorded in the Netherlands at a TTM show back in May. This is a new song Battle Lines and it kicks ass The Temperance Movement - Battle Lines. Patronaat, Haarlem (17/05/2014) Over on Facebook there's a great TTM fan group The Temperance Movement (movement) facebook.com/groups/447954555261029/ Wishing you a great day.
+Vinyl Needle Junkie i can see that but for me,his throaty roar reminds me of paul rodgers, and perfect for blues-oriented rock.funny how the birthplace of the blues,America, never really produced a blues band to match the stones, free, cream,Led Zeppelin etc etc.criminal how the blues were so underground and neglected in its home.
I'm absolutely hooked on this band right now! At the end of this show the drummer threw his drumsticks into the audience. I almost caught one. Of course it had to bounce from my hand to the people behind me. Bummer..
Except they won't ever get played on the radio and teenage girls aren't into this stuff and they are the only ones actually buying records these days...but they are brilliant. People said the same thing about The Answer years ago and whatever happened to them?
vivixxx100 I apologise for making a sweeping generalisation and its great that that you like this kind of music but the fact is that One Direction will sell x million records and get played on the radio all the time whereas a great band like The Temperance Movement are going to struggle to make a living. You can get their CD online but I doubt any music stores will stock it, that's a huge part of the problem.
Steve Veasey That's ok. And yes, you are right, that's how it is and it's a shame but what can we do other than like what we like and try to convince others of the greatness of it.
vivixxx100 Its true, what you will find as you grow older and if you still like this kind of stuff is that because everybody you know likes a band you assume they will be huge but actually you are part of a particular scene that actually isn't that big and that outside of your world nobody knows or cares about great music..you probably know about a band called Rival Sons and in the States people thought they would be as big as Led Zeppelin used to be but it just won't ever happen...
Phil is a great guy, happy to see that he's in good health. Fine Grind Gangsters is a great podcast, love hearing the stories first-hand. The Temperance Movement were an amazing live band.
If The Kings of Leon had sounded like this I would have been a fan. This is what you call a 5 in 1... Five bands in one The Dude sounds like the frontman from Free with a hint of Joe Cocker and the band a touch of Hooker & heat. WoOoooh... Shut the Front door.. The Dude just spoke... and he is Scottish!! WTF ... ... by jings ... I am Scottish! ..turns out I have been living under a rock.. I suppose 2 decades of Heroin will do that. So you can forgive me. I think I've just about forgiven myself... although sometimes I still shed a tear. P.s music Fanz If you have not heard Jimi Hendrix's studio album/Jam "Nine to the Universe" Check it ooot!! Ye rugged band of Gypsies Soar Alba!!.
Love these guys and can't wait to make the drive to Buffalo and Detroit from Toronto to see them. Wish they'd come to Toronto. What's Battle Lines off of? Their song? Can't find any music of theirs other than the EP/LP released in 2013.
Hi, Battle Lines is a new track from their forthcoming new album due for release later in 2015. I recorded this kick ass version of Battle Lines in Haarlem, The Netherlands back in May 2014, when they where road testing some new songs. th-cam.com/video/w5Fu8MR6TH0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for replying and thanks for posting this video. I've watched their set a few times already and can't wait to see them live in Feb. Any idea when a 2nd album will be released? I'd say they're due.
this crowd doesn't grasp at all whats happening in front of them! a truly great rock n roll band working their arses off fuck me what is wrong with people these days! it's like they don't give a fuck but I fucking do, this band are like a breath of fresh fucking air pure hard blues rock that sadly doesn't sit easy with record companies or so called crowds/audiences anymore : ( I love it though : )
they sound more retro than any other band that is apostrophised this way. am I the only one who sees the long gallery of rock'n'roll running by by hearing this? but they are truely fresh - great, great band.
"There's no sun in the sky, but I'm wearing shades.
Thats the only reason for being in a rock and roll band"
genius

If you appreciate music at all, you can't dislike this.

Fantastic band. Too bad I discovered them too late...
Also, love the video guy, impeccable audience cam work. Beautiful people being themselves
thanks for uploading this!
It took a bit of doing, but it was well worth the effort. The boys are on top form (as always).

Stunning band!
Super ce live ! Good live band !

These guys remind me of the Black Crowes. Especially that singer.
But a lot better ❤️
got to see them in Dallas in 2015. Fantastic !!!
Excellent blues based rock band with the vocals being unique with the passion of Janis Joplin n Joe Cocker \m/

Steve Veasey Well, I was there and I happen to be a teenage girl and like this. I wanted to buy the CD but they didn't even have it in the store

Fine Grind Gangsters brought me here
Phil is a great guy, happy to see that he's in good health. Fine Grind Gangsters is a great podcast, love hearing the stories first-hand. The Temperance Movement were an amazing live band.
Such an amazing band. Bummed they broke up. If they came out in the early 90’s they would have been huge.

You're right. Unfortunately, Werchter has become a happening for 'Have you seen me's' and no longer for music lovers.
Either time to start buying records again or to educate teenage girls!
Phil like a young Rodger Chapman.
they sound more retro than any other band that is apostrophised this way. am I the only one who sees the long gallery of rock'n'roll running by by hearing this? but they are truely fresh - great, great band.
Probably the weakest crowd I have ever seen
chanter
Whoa. So safe to say their singer does drugs.
Well,Phil could be a great singer but very ,very bad Harmonica player,,,,
boring.
yikes!!!!!
Steve Jennings don't get me wrong, great band, but after the initial three or four live studio videos released in 2012 they got boring...
You can only dream of being as good as this!
