My three teens (16,16 and 17) were just talking about this at the supper table last night. How do you know what career is the right one for you? My husband's first answer - that frankly surprised our kids - was "Pray about it and ask God, ask the Holy Spirit, to help you." And today I am seeing this video - one answer to that prayer! Thank you and please pray for them too!

    • @Lobo59470

m gilsdorf that can be frustrating when you’re when you’re expecting a certain answer. I wrestled with it for a few years because the felt that the answer was preaching or inside the church. Which is great, but I didn’t want an outside opinion to persuade me. One service I broke down in tear and cried out “whatever it is that you want me to do I’ll do it” keep in mind this was an emotional night and has been a rough 2 years. God came back to me with “lead by example.” I was mad because you never get responses! And the one time he speaks its a short indirect answer. Then I realized what he was trying to say was that it doesn’t matter what you do. So I said ok. There’s no wrong answer. And kinda broke down what the video talked about. And I also weighed the scenario what kind of life do you want. And concluding that no amount of money has ever bought time, and family will be important in my house hold I chose to be a first responder. I love engaging with people, I love the crew I have (family), and I love the flexibility and encouragement To be me. I get an insane amount of time off to be with my fiancé and son. Plenty of time to go see my mom. The salary allows me to live the life I want without working my life away. Here I am 3 years in and I’m still loving it. There has been several times where I was curious about what if. I’m really passionate about budgeting and finances so I’m currently thinking about getting a degree for personal benefit and as a way to create a hobby with it. I’d love to sit down with people and help them understand their finances. I call it financial awareness. It’s ok to be broke but know why you’re broke. Food, car payment, debt, now that you’re aware, you can begin to gain control and live within your means. 😂 passionate topic, I’m sorry

Ask yourself what kinds of tasks you avoid.
      Why do you avoid them?
You might say “I would be happy to (insert task you don’t like) if it was just more/less (part you think should change).
You have natural talents and abilities. Most likely you avoid activities which don’t use those natural traits. Look at what you are avoiding to see what you handle well. Your strengths are hidden in what you enjoy.

I value nature/animals, the environment, harmony/peace/compassion, and equal rights. I'm ok at writing/communicating, coordinating, learning quickly, and apparently investigating from my skills test. I scored high in creative, social, then next was investigative.

What if your passion is problematic as a career? I love fitness and really want to help others but personal trainers don’t make a lot of money or have good job opportunities. I want to go to college but don’t know what to study :/

Ahmad Samhoun My mom started out as an aerobics instructor making $15/hour but only working 12 hours a week or so. She quickly became the aerobics director for our local YMCA, which was a salaried full time position. However, she branched out and found a small gym in another city that was going under, she bought that gym and turned it into a huge success. At 70 years old, she still runs that gym and does personal training for clients. You never know where your passion might take you.

Could you help me out.? This is what I came up with:
    Top 3 talents:
    I'm good with people
    I'm artistic
I'm good at being "animated" so maybe (acting) or being dramatic in a funny or cute way.
    Top 3 passions
Lifting up peoples energy, making people feel good.
    Reading a good fiction book
    Being surrounded my nature.
    What do I VALUE:
Being happy, feeling alive, feeling fulfilled, and helping others feel the same.
(What could I do with this?)

@Ambition Freeman I am certified in Reiki, I am good at distant healing. I am also an artist, I'm pretty good at realism for portraits. I am empathic and can feel others emotions as well as take them or send emotion to someone. That's pretty much my skills.

So my top talent is my perception, my top skills (I couldn’t pick just one) are I draw well and understand the psychology of people, my top passion is giving advice/setting up guidelines, and top value is connection/building community.
The obvious may be psychologist, but that ROI between college and career is putting me off. Art therapist is the same. So I really don’t know what to do!

I know it’s a lot but I want it and I’m going to get there from a micro creator to a macro. BUT I WILL TRY THIS and see. ✊🏽💯 After trying this exercise what did you guys get? This is interesting
