@@IdiotNo well in one of the endings to Touhou 4 Marisa does claim that Yuuka was really weak and that the fight against her was really easy... so... perhaps? then again Marisa isn't exactly known for being the most truthful of people...
btw Shinki ended up doing a cirno by accident due to how the cheeto lazors curve to home in on you, you can just stand right above her and they will all miss you also on the aimed portion of the second phase, if you feel VERY lucky, you can just stand there and hope the bullets all go around you. this usually doesn't work tho due to erratic shinki movement+the fact that aimed bullets in the pc-98 era aren't the most reliable at aiming at you (or in this case around you)
It is honestly odd to me that UFO had come and gone and Makai was revisited but Shinki was nowhere to be seen - the law of PC-98 and canon with the Windows games is that if a Windows game contradicts a PC-98 game the Windows game takes precedent, but that raises a few questions. Are Shinki and Yumeko in hiding or gone? What happened to Yuki and Mai? Did Shinki really set fire to a part of Makai before her final attack? (the red background perhaps on her final) Some of these questions have potential answers - Makai's strange scenery in UFO Stage 5 or 6 could be a result of the battle with Shinki, and Shinki definitely existed if Byakuren's rendition of Devil's Recitation is any indication. Regardless, it's not likely these questions will be answered for a long time, if ever, but it's fun to speculate and think about what could've happened to these characters that time forgot. I'm curious to see if Yumeko and Chiyuri reappear in some form, for example.
Also remember, Makai is stated to be pretty big (or as shou says, infinite), with the portion of Makai you go through seems to basically be the frontier rather than touhou 5, where you are litterally bum-rushing the basically-capital, so do you really expect to see Shinki out there
I agree comrade, I can't believe these foreigners would attack glorious supreme leader of Makai. There sins can never be truly repaid in it's fullest form. Glory to our great leader, glory to our God, glory greatest country.
Crazy how I managed to dodge all homing bullets against Shinki but not against Yuki and Mai without using bombs. Good grief, I managed to 1cc normal mode with Marisa with 1 life left and 0 bombs left. Hooray, I got a good ending in the final moment.

she's actually easier than Yumeko imo literally her only REALLY difficult parts are devils recitation and cheeto lazor hell if you don't know how to cheese it (pun not intended)
@@emishimaru-sama6449 Kinda. Most people call it Devil's Recitation since Byakuren (final boss of touhou UFO) stole Shinki's second to last phase, with some modifications, for her third/second to last spellcard and it's called Devil's Recitation in that spell card

They've been retconned, basically.
