318/365 ALISTAIR GRIFFIN - BLINDING LIGHTS (2012)

During the course of this year I aim to upload a song every day for your consideration as to whether they were good enough and sufficiently commercial to have become UK Top 20 singles. Many different genres will be represented, so if this particular one’s not your preferred style then hopefully it won’t be too long before you find one that is.

Also, if leaving a critical comment please try to take into account the year of original release - most of the songs that I'll be uploading are decades old so it wouldn’t be surprising if some sound dated now.
Today’s choice is Blinding Lights by under-rated singer-songwriter Alistair Griffin. Regular watchers of this channel will know that Alistair is someone whose work I’ve been regularly promoting as I think he’s a very talented performer who deserved more chart success than that he has enjoyed to date. Released as a digital single from his 2012 album "Albion Sky" (there was previously a promotional CDR in 2011), “Blinding Lights” is another example of a track that I think should have made it into the charts, but unfortunately Alistair has found it hard going to get radio airplay for his singles. It’s a fairly straightforward up-tempo number, but with an infectious chorus that was made for radio with a nice instrumental hook to back it up.
