I love Enhypen, everything they do. I like how different this sounds from their other debuts, but it took me a sec to get the chanting part. I wasnt sure I liked when it came into the song. But Niki's rap was ready good.

I am not sure about the webtoon, but I see the story heavy from the web novel though... The color of the grass the coffins the place the crumbling castle etc are all elements from the web novel.... i dont want to spoil the story but the story is there.

Sunghoon and Jungwon play a game of chess in the video. Jungwon has a queen in his hand, in the teaser it was a king. Sunghoon had a knight and a pawn in his hands and in the video he looked like he was nervous about the game. In the intro to the title track at the showcase, the guys with their abilities were shown, but only Sunghoon was in the coffin, maybe he lost and died first. Jay is supposed to be next in the game.
This is just my theory based on observation.

The vampires have finally awakened and got out of their coffins to serve us some great music again x') the MV is here and it was definitely worth the wait ! It's one of Enhypen's best main songs imo. And one of my fave title tracks from them, that's for sure !
To be honest, there's still a few things i'm not so sure about with this. First, couldn't help but find the MV a bit underwhelming at times - think it's because i had too huge expectations after seeing the film teasers before the CB. Was expecting them to go all in with the vampire aesthetic... they did really great with including some iconic elements and super interesting visuals and environments (the ruins, the mirror, the chandelier, the outfits...), but i was expecting even more gothic-like sceneries and striking imagery, something more violent and gory perhaps.
When talking about the song, love everything in it except the "Oh my, oh my god" transition... not that i dislike it but still dunno how to feel about it, which is so bizarre and paradoxical for me since this is the most gothic-sounding part of the song and totally fits the vampire aesthetic i was craving for x') i really like it on its own, and it's a very clever transition that adds even more complexity to the song, but it somehow also feels a little out of place within the song ? It'll probably grow on me tho.
And most importantly... sorry but the song in itself is WAY TOO SHORT !!! Are they kiddin' us, it's barely 2 minutes 30 seconds... come on, this track is too good to be this short, this is a crime x'D really wish there was something to boost it up a bit more, like a dancebreak, a proper bridge before the last chorus, or even an instru intro (to mirror this beautiful outro).
Now, onto the good stuff ! Or should we say, the reaaaally gooood stuff >:)
Absolutely love the song as a whole, its structure is very interesting. The instrumental, while remaining fairly simple most of the times as you mentionned, still sounds highly satisfying. The chorus is a true ear-worm with this nice bass-like sound, also really enjoyed the muffled instru outro which was super cool. Am litterally infatuated with the pre-chorus "Come here and get some", it's actually insane. They're killin it with the rap parts !!! And the choreo looks fantastic, can't wait to see more of it in performance videos or dance practice. The whole thing just has so much sexy and dark and classy vibes and the guys are absolutely slaying it, love this... and the suits and styling are the cherry on top of the cake. Actually, this MV is like a black forest pièce montée, with bright red cherries on top, and dripping with extra-dark chocolate sauce x'D a lot to process but super impressive and glamorous !
Great reaction as always, your hype and energy were super communicative and your thoughts and comments very interesting ! Also make me want to watch "The Lost Boys" again, such a iconic movie x'D Enhypen's vampire looks and concept indeed seem to stand somewhere inbetween the youthful and carefree rocker vampires aesthetic, and the more classy and elegant one like in "Interview with the Vampire". Anyways, can't wait to listen to the album before moving on to your reaction for it :')
Fantastic review, wow! Love hearing your thoughts! In terms of music video, I think a lot of money went into that trailer so they had to cut the costs somehow with the MV - although I'm sure filming at that Polish castle cost a pretty penny haha. I also think they make sure the title tracks are shorter so that people can stream it more frequently lol. So I honestly believe it's a business decision. // Ohhhh I love the 'Oh my God" parts, and you're right, it does sound very in line with the vampire theme. I love their movements to it as well; kinda zombie/Michael Jackson like - I could be wrong but we'll see it better in upcoming dance videos I'm sure. Wait til you hear what I have to say about this song in my album reaction! One thing I didn't mention because I forgot to is: I know some people might label this as a Fever 2.0 (high praise), but to me it feels like an extension of Fever...if Fever was the hazy come down, then Bite Me is them awakening from that haze the next day (or night!). Yes i also think you're right about the MV, travelling all the way to Poland and shooting in that place must've been expensive enough x'D that's what you call dedication right there... it'd be really interesting to watch a behind the scenes of the MV to see how everything was filmed and get some more info about the staging choices (saw that they already released an "MV Shoot Sketch" but there aren't subtitles yet so not sure if this is the actual behind). And yeah i get why so many groups release shorter and shorter title tracks, totally makes sense from a marketing point of view. Can feel a little frustrating at times when you really like the song, but good for them if they can get more money and virality out of it when it's shorter and fitter for streaming. And it certainly doesn't reduce the song's quality :) plus, as much as i love when songs are around 5-6 minutes, that'd be definitely too long for streaming purposes x')
For real, the more i listen to this song, the more i love it. Called it, the "Oh my god" is even growing on me slowly but surely, and as you said the dance looks very cool on that part, so excited for their dance performances of it. Also can't wait to watch your album reaction today, in fact i listened to the album and am very curious to know your thoughts about it >:)
Love your additional take on the song when comparing it to "Fever" ! Cause while the 2 songs both have seductive vibes, "Fever" is calmer and more chill whereas "Bite Me" is filled with way more tension imo. "Fever" is like a hazy/dreamy craving, a persistent (yet still a bit blurry) and growing desire, but "Bite Me" is the obsession one gets after they had what they craved for in "Fever" : they got it once, and now they want it more, to the point of addiction - which i think is reflected through the 2 MVs (with the dances for instance), the lyrics of the songs and the whole "i got bitten by a vampire and enjoyed it" concept here.
