And not that he went the worst record, but somehow not only when he's known for putting on a great show flipping bots 12ft in the air and winning, he not only goes 0-4 but gets dethroned. So hydra kinda ruined everything. Then when s5 was confirmed, I was hoping for his return, until Greg Munson in an interview said interta labs with bronco is confimed not to return. This is when my heart broke because not only am I unable to see my favorite bot but he's gonna end his career with a 0-4 loss & 12-8 overall record? I was for sure in s4 he would raise that 12 career win, but nah, nah. So many months went ahead, and s5 got delayed then filmed in Oct, I was still heart broken by the news, for MANY MONTHS. That's why I wasn't hyped for s5, because of who's not returning, until..... I saw a teaser pic in the inertia labs social media page and was like "what is this?" At first thought this was like the team visiting the scene since they live in the same state and they're like a legend in the sport, but once people started talking, I had a tiny hope the back in my mind that maybe, just maybe, Bronco would return. And a few weeks later, the official 2020 roster has been released on the website and when I saw Bronco 2020 with new pick, I literally did a back flip & my heart was patched. I was so fucking surprised to see them on that list. But unfortunately, with many months being heart broken by the now outdated news, it still doesn't make me super super super duper hyped for s5. I'm more hyped now because Bronco is in it, but I'm not expecting them to be a full competitor (w 4 fights) because of the late reveal & original news of them not coming. Also, just because bronco is returning, that doesn't I'll be happy to see them, because was s4 really a good time to see them? You know, biteforce & HUGE obliterating it? Weak titanium with no weapon against one of the best drivers? Getting dethroned by a clone on steroids? And going 0-4 winless? All I'm saying is I'm fucking praying my ass off that Bronco gets a win, even if it's just one fight. I don't want to see him getting humiliated by opponents, that'd not fun to watch. Going 1-0 or even 0-0 is better than 0-1, 0-2, 0-3 & 0-4

We think that they are possibly a tournament bot since they probably replaced Double Jeopardy who dropped out! (sad to see Double Jeopardy out but awesome to see Bronco return)

I must say, considering the whole pandemic situation, and all the international teams that couldn't compete, I think Battlebots have done a damn good job getting an interesting, and fairly diverse lineup for the new season. This field looks pretty damn impressive, and I can't wait to see what fights it can give us.
BattleBots have done a great job running a whole series without anyone testing positive as well - they've really set an example for other sports events
I do think SOW and Bronco are full competitors, with Tortizord and Double Jeopardy dropping out at the same time they were announced, both receiving minimal changes and the precedent, since in 2019 the exact same thing happened, with Captain Shrederator saying they weren't in, then appearing unchanged as a replacement for Chomp.

The episode dubbed it as Bronco final fight, and he lost, not even a single flip in like what? And against rotator, I expected Bronco to put up a better fight. But nope, Bronco has shown to not do well against today's spinners. It's sad to see that my favorite bot has to end his career simply because he can't compete with today's spinners. You know, part of the reason why I do love watching battlebots is because of Bronco. So now that he's gone, what now? I managed to find the bounty hunter fights on YT so I'm all good in terms of spoilers. The thing that is sad for me is that Bronco could've been improved SO EASILY to fight the spinners, but the team just never made the right improvements for the bot. A change in the shape of the flipper spatula, a shorter wheelbase, even different attachments on the front of the machine etc. All of these changes could've helped Bronco, but it seems they just didn't adapt the robot in the right ways. A legendary bot like Bronco deserved to die a warrior death, not running scared of RotatoR's blade. It's just sad :(
Gamma 9 is doing an old Devo Pose they did in the end of a music Video off second Album. The Devo New Wave band is from the late 1970's and was 5-6 years ahead of its time at least if not a little more.
I think the reason we are seeing more lifters is for a couple of reasons... People want to do something different than the vert spinner meta *_and_* want something that might be able to counter those established and powerful verticals. On a slightly different note I will miss not seeing Cobalt with its ridiculously powerful weapon, I would of been looking forward to seeing that machine but with an improved method of feeding its fairly high mounted disc. Anyway, I think this years competition should be really interesting since I really have no idea who might win, that and the really promising teams entering new or second iteration machines this year should really throw some curve balls in there.
Can’t wait for the new Beta to fight, I like the design based on Terrorhurtz. I don’t why but I can see Gruff going a bit further this time, overall an interesting lineup for this season.

That's why I got caught off guard when looking on the subreddit. I mean yeah it got me so hyped, but definitely was a shocker to come out this early, especially when the 2020 field wasn't publicly revealed until November and we still have to wait less than *2 months* for s6. Even looking at the incomplete list, it just looks like a combination of s4 & s5 bots because like 90% are returning experienced teams and we have barely any newcomers. I'm new to this bot fighting world so until lastnight I didnt know bots like this were allowed. It seems so cheesedog and easily exploited. These bots dont fully exploit it but it makes me dream of a future meta where the format is dominated by large walkers who tangle up with sacrificial appendages and then toss around disabled spinner bots.
Remember that walking bots are incredibly complex and expensive, and it’s very rare to see a true walking robot with the allowed weight bonus. Most people will always opt for a more simple, compact, nimble machine than a large, complicated one. Mammoth, Huge and Smeeee all use their size to their advantage, but every design has its weaknesses. I’ll always be rooting for innovation like Smeee and chomp, and size doesn’t matter if the fights are entertaining
always rooting for Mamoth as a fan of that bot for a long time but being Bisexual I will hope for Sporkinok to at least win a fight or two. No those are not Bisexual flag colors but Pansexual or Trangender, I forget.
