Ma'am I have a doubt if gamete producing cell is already diploid mean it contain 23 pairs of chromosome then how at the time of meiosis DNA replicate???
@@Homo_Sapien_earth Male gemete contain 23 chromosomes and female gemete also contain 23 chromosomes when they bot fertilised to form zygote. this zygote have 23 pairs of chromosomes 👍

3:02:41 In homologous chromosomes, one pair of chromosome is inherited one from mother and one from father.? So when u said that, in the second pea plant, one of the paired chromosome is faulty gene.. Bt it could be that one of the paired chromosome is of another pea plant and the other is of other pea plant.. Pls explain
Thank you for your comment! You are absolutely correct that in homologous chromosomes, one pair of chromosome is inherited one from mother and one from father. However, when we say that in the second pea plant, one of the paired chromosome is faulty gene, we are referring to a specific gene within that chromosome. So it is possible that one of the paired chromosome is from one pea plant and the other is from another pea plant, but the gene we are referring to is from the first pea plant. We hope this clarifies things for you! Thank you for watching our videos!
Thanks for your comment! Yes, it is true that recessive trait is usually associated with dwarfism, while dominant trait is usually associated with tallness. However, it is important to remember that not all traits are linked to these characteristics.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're glad that our videos are helping you learn SST and we are committed to helping students understand the subject better. Keep watching our videos and let us know if there is any other topic you would like us to cover.
Mam I have a doubt that when you were explaining dominant and resepressive traits you said that one chromosome got faulty but it should not be considered as faulty because for example may be my father is tall and mother is short so that pair of chromosome will have tall and short height but that doesn't mean short height trait protein is due to some fault because it's of my mother please explain it in simple language
Hi there! Thanks for watching our video and for your thoughtful question. You are right that the gene for height is not necessarily "faulty" or wrong; it all depends on the parents' individual traits. The tall height trait is a dominant trait, so if one gene comes from a parent with a tall height trait, the offspring will most likely have a tall height trait. Similarly, the short height trait is a recessive trait, so if one gene comes from a parent with a short height trait, the offspring will most likely have a short height trait. I hope this helps!
Hi there! Great question. Every cell has the same set of genes, but those genes are expressed differently in different cells. The chromosomes are what help to determine when and how much of a gene is expressed. Thanks for watching our video!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad that you are enjoying our educational videos. We are always striving to make our videos as informative and engaging as possible to help students learn.
Mam but u told that homologous chromosomes are those which have specific genes at same position and. They code same charcter then what is the difference between alleles and homologous chromosomes
Hey, hear answer to your question, Homologous chromosomes are defined as set or pair While Alleles has two alternative form for each chromosomes as every chromosomes live in pair
Ma'am I have a doubt that Homologous chromosome are those whose length are same and also have a gene at a specific same position So mam, alleles are also similar to homologous chromosomes because they also have the same genes at the same specific position Means mam agar homologous chromosomes mein gene same specific position par hota hai to iska to matlab ye hua ki un par same trait code kar ne Wale gene same position par hote hai To fir Alleles and homologous chromosomes mein difference hi nahi hai

Ma'am I have a doubt if gamete producing cell is already diploid mean it contain 23 pairs of chromosome then how at the time of meiosis DNA replicate???
Hi there! That's a great question! The diploid cell will replicate its DNA so that each of the daughter cells will have the same genetic material as the parent cell. During meiosis, the cell will then divide twice, producing four haploid daughter cells with half the amount of chromosomes. I hope this helps!

Homologous chromosomes are defined as set or pair
While
Alleles has two alternative form for each chromosomes as every chromosomes live in pair

Homologous chromosome are those whose length are same and also have a gene at a specific same position
So mam, alleles are also similar to homologous chromosomes because they also have the same genes at the same specific position
Means mam agar homologous chromosomes mein gene same specific position par hota hai to iska to matlab ye hua ki un par same trait code kar ne Wale gene same position par hote hai
To fir Alleles and homologous chromosomes mein difference hi nahi hai
Hey bro
Alleles are those genes which code same character and the chromosomes which has alleles are called homologous chromosome
