Going to have another unscreened professional live audition next Saturday. Some of the excerpts (ex midsummer or bartered bride) have the same requirement or maybe even harder to execute with nerves. Not to mention, it's VERY hard to play (pp) on a stage.
Have been using new tuning method. I kid you not. It realy helps. Instead of deadening all strings with felt, just slack all strings but the one you are tuning. All for now. Thank You Dr. LYNN!❤
Great practice technique! Is the tune changing in your mind with every variation (therefore the accent always staying on the first 16th of the new melody)? Or is the tune staying the same and you're trying to feel accents on "wrong beats"? I find that each approach will yield different results. The power of relativity! It reminds me of the first time I heard Mozart 40: it was a tune in a video game I played as a kid. This was from the time of monophonic MIDI, so until I actually heard the piece in its full glory, I was convinced that the first note was on a strong beat! DA-da-da, DA-da-da, DA-da-da, DA! It's actually kind of catchy...
Thanks, Daniel! I guess my answer is that I have to learn the excerpt a “different” way with each accent variation in order to ensure that the metronome lines up with the weak beat. 😅
I don’t have a list compiled personally. Do you mean Top 10 Classical Music for Violinists? Top 10 Most Difficult Music for Violinists? Top 10 “Must-Learn” Music for Violinists? Not sure what you mean exactly by “Top 10”?
@violynnkuo just top 10 music for violinists, what sounds the best or is most popular among violinists... 🤔 what do people most often ask you to play at concerts and such...
@@omorganstudiosThat really depends on who’s asking actually… and the context. Is it solo music? Orchestra music? Chamber music? You can’t perform a great symphony alone as a solo violinist unless you find or create your own transcription… I’m sure there are great lists that are searchable online of the “Most popular violin music”. But the issue is: what do you consider “popular”? What’s popular to a general listener is not necessarily favoured by a more experienced listener.

That sounds intriguing! What do you mean by deadening the strings with felt? 🤔
Very quick Dr.Lynn! I can only hope to get as quick as you!❤
I’m sure you will!
Thank you Lynn for sharing this wonderful video! I know for me I have to work on a lot of elements!!😮

My last metroneme exercise was to abbas the visitors. About 98 to 102bpm. It was ok.
That sounds promising, Chris!
Great practice technique!
