Working on a case conceptualization through different theoretical lenses. This video was really helpful in figuring out the counselor's role more clearly. Thank you for helping me gain understanding today.

Your video was incredibly helpful for me to better understand the application of this theory! I was able to write a clearer case conceptualization paper using this theory, and now it's my favorite theory that we've studied this semester. Thank you Dr. Curtis!

Thank you, I found you through this video. Which has been very helpful. In looking for another way of working with anxiety. It was also a pleasant surprise that you talk about star seeds. What a breath of fresh air that is. There aren’t many of us that do. I perceive you in the same way people see dr Brian Weiss, your the first I’ve seen talk about it. I’d like to see a video on working with OCD/ anxiety and the voices they hear, eg that say do this or your family will be harmed etc . Thank you again.

thank you so much for sharing . mapping is good way to go.... i often share with people that visual mapping with the things we do or things we discuss, often lead to a grater insight around things, people, and ourselves.

Thank you for this! I just noticed you're at Western. I am studying CMHC at NC State. :) Looking for Existential application to anxiety for my next mock session in the morning. This was super helpful.

This was really more theory than practice. It's really hard to find info on how exactly this theory gets applied in situations that aren't directly related to death. Which is silly, because Sartre never focused so much on death as on a life that is bound to end

Yep, I'm searching to find a vid of an existential therapy session... no one knows how it is meant to be practised, you just have Perls working with Gloria and that is brutal

@@jacquedaw haha for real! I'm going to delve into Irvin Yalom's existential psychotherapy one of these days, but it's still so dense and hard to imagine what an average session would look like

For videos of sessions and more application of existential therapy you could look at the work of Alfried Laengle and his work with Existential Analysis.

How could this practice would be helpful to indivuals clinically diagnosed with depression?

    • @russcurtis1

By learning to improve relationships and talking because what’s acknowledged then liberates stuck energy. But with depression we’d also us CBT etc and a medical evaluation.
