  • The life of Andy Warhol. From his early years to his mature art. His strengths and weaknesses. What he loved and hated. His relationships, his obsessions and his fears.

I always saw his art work in the subways in new york city. This was back in the 80's. Everything was so different then. I wondered how he did it. Now I know.😊

His mother adored him. Lucky guy! Reminds me of my family..they were in such awe of my younger brother. They kissed him, held him and then just looked at me and turned away..years of this totally ruined me.

@Bobby Taylor that was really really nice of you. Thank you. We all know of stories like this, like mine, but i am a well.rounded and empathetic friend. I KNOW how it is! We need to LISTEN more and talk less, starting with me.

Reminds me of an uncle. The last child and the one that never grew up. He was over loved. Not all love is healthy. Both my parents have passed and only now can I really see the wounds. For ten years I was an only child and over protected. Those wounds are shallow compared with your own or many others but I can see the echo's of generations. I doubt we will ever be free. I feel for my daughters as they work their way through the mess of my life.

17:55 It's funny people talk about these black-&-white Marilyns representing the harsh realities of her life... but I think people are forgetting that before the 1990s almost every newspaper image was black-&-white and that's what it reminds people of the most!📰🗞️

The first portraits are an extension of the of the Left half of the Marilyn portrait. His subjects were the current celebrities/cult popularity people at the time. Yes, they do look flat, and sexist, but on purpose. Most of these people still hold cult personal status at this time. Genius.

I think the parties the oddities the bizarreness and the connection to the Art world Etc... of Andy Warhol is what made him not his Art. Its what is called Branding one's self whether one is cognizant of it or not and capitalizing on it. If one looks at any Artist in any field one can find it, whether Querkyness, Style, Personality, Their art itself, or a combination of things that create a desirable, admired, and entertaining uniqueness Etc...

Start out genuinely a bit weird. Discover that weird sells. Become an icon of weird. People flock to weird. Weird.
