When you said you hit the solenoid, did you mean the solenoid on the starter? If so, that's what you want to hit. That's where the contacts that aren't closing are. If there's another solenoid somewhere in the electrical system, it still makes sense. Hitting it forced the contacts to close.

I love the chain link fence on the windshield. The 64 dollar question is what is the Vice on the front bumper for? Well that certainly a head scratcher the engine shuts off but the fix is beat on the starter? Something just doesn’t make sense unless of course you are inhaling a lot of them “paint fumes” Azn was smelling by that gangster looking paint booth 😅😂🤣
