RETIRED DANCER'S REACTION+REVIEW: AESPA "Next Level" Dance Practice!

- WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this TH-cam name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

this video is actually a special dance practice. a survey was taken on twitter to decide if they would dance in farm animal costumes or with the company theme. the company theme won and that's why they are wearing these different clothes, heels and there were also some changes in the choreography (like the part of the card/ID you mentioned)

As others have mentioned, I was worried about Ningning too. They gave her shoes that didn't fit. Thank God they at least fit in the front so her toes were snug. She's a damn professional and probably told everyone, "Whatever. I got this."
And she totally did.
These girls are a bottle of pure and unadulterated awesome. A short time ago, I had only two K-Pop groups that I allowed in my life. BlackPink and Dreamcatcher. But Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning have completely won me over. I've made room for Aespa in my heart.
loved it! i agree, ningning heel's were so high + bigger than her foot, they were not her size, but she did really good. i was kinda worried for her. i really liked this dance practice with them wearing suits, but i wish they had released one with them wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, but it's okay. the arm movement at the chorus is really memorable, it's really the highlight of the choreo. they seemed to have had fun, so i'm glad. can't wait to see what they'll bring next. :)

Black Mamba is actually a virus attacking/hacking AE. Which makes it the enemy. It's all in that 10min mini-movie they made before the Next Level debut.

Hi Thina: as a dancer; how difficult is it to adjust to the changes to the time signature and rhythm changes while mid song? Asking as a piano player who has been asked to switch-finger movements and dynamics constancy, which can pretty overwhelming at times.
I think u already know, mybe u already watch the peformance video, but just want to mention again, blackmamba dance practice have very different vibe to NextLevel. Hope u can share ur reaction to blackmamba dance practice😁

It’s funny you say they are their own competition cuz now that I’m farther into the fandom journey; literally at one point they had two of their songs tied for first on an award show, so either way aespa was gonna win it was just which song
On my first listen, I didn't like Next Level like at all... but I've found myself humming it lately and I really enjoyed it when I went back to rewatch the MV 😂

Those heels on ningning are not safe honestly for hiphop based genre, u need something like a strap to stop the buckling atleast.... if someone who hasn’t trained in heels does not have them it’s a recipe for disaster.... also heel choreography has there own basics of walking, drops, etc. which isn’t followed in this choreography.... should have went for lower height platform heels honestly....
My question is why on earth would ningning wear shoes too big for her? Maybe they just look weird? It's not like the company is hurting for money and why on earth would they put her in danger of getting hurt? So, like, i feel like these shoes aren't "too big" but maybe they're just like... weird looking or something? It just doesn't add up to me.
Black mamba (black snake) is the hacker of "ae or æ" (Artificial Human). Nævis is æ version of Karina, Ningning, Winter and Giselle. Aespa and Nævis are twins. So Black Mamba is the enemy.
I just found out that Next Level Chorus was a remake from Fast and Furious, basically I'm not a movie lover so I dunno it.
I don't think you interpret their concept well, sorry to offend you.. Naevis is not the version of members, Naevis and aespa aren't twins. Yes black mamba is their enemy, but naevis is the one who connect the ae and the members. The one who likely their twin is their ae.

It's not because people "don't like it", its exactly like Blackpink, it doesn't matter what aespa does, people will complain, it started even before their debut... just antis
For example, there is a massive downvote or whatever trend going on with Spotify solely because it got first place... so don't really listen to the complaints or criticism, there is no real reason for it
Also this dance practice is a special for Next Level getting 100m views, it's not a typical dance practice... and this video is also attracting drama
If you want to be a MY or Blink, just gotta accept tons of antis for minimal reason, it sucks
Edit: no, it isnt that deep, Black Mamba is just the villain in the story, there are lore videos surrounding aespa also, it's not just music videos
