I was a little too old for M.A.S.K. but my younger brother was very into it. We went to Hills department store (remember those?) to pick out his birthday present one year and he settled on the Boulder Hill play-set. To our surprise, the set had been previously opened and then packed with additional M.A.S.K. vehicles and drivers -- perhaps it was a mix-up or perhaps it was a scam but my brother ended up with pretty much the whole shebang in one go. A very memorable birthday.
Really amazing! I'll like to have one like that! I miss all my MASK action figures and vehicles... I want it all again! Thanks for the video... it helps me to remember good times!
I totally agree. I'm in my 40's now and have space and room for my hobby of retro collecting and my wife totally supports it. Every so often my wife and daughter will go hunting and sometime find a treasure and pick it up for me which is totally a bonus. It's always awesome and a blessing to have a wife that supports a man's nostalgic hobby of toys and retro video games.
This only proves that you have established yourselves in peoples hearts to have been entrusted with this awesome collection! Yes MASK is one of the greatest, if not the best toyline in the 80's. I used to have the Wildcat towtruck.
M.A.S.K. was my favorite toyline as a kid. The overall quality and the licensed brand names used is impressive even by today's standards. My new hobby is restoring old M.A.S.K. toys, which is how I found this channel. I dug my old stuff out of storage and have been replacing broken & worn springs, lost masks (and tiny bombs), and peeling stickers. On a weird side note, I went to high school in Enterprise with a girl named Melinda Mock who looks a lot like the Melinda in the video...small world.
M.A.S.K What a great line. Classic 80s toy. For me the 1980s was the pinnacle of toy making. The sheer size of toys like the GI Joe Terror drome and USS Flag. Never again will we see toys of that size and scoop . As a kid who loved cars mask was a near perfect line. Cool cars that transformed into other cool vehicles. I cant wait to see more of your videos as i have just now found your channel.
Awesome Video! I love MASK! Always wanted those toys as a young kid but could never afford them. Now as a grown adult I've been collecting all my childhood nostalgic retro toys from the 80's. As of now I only own 6 complete toys from the early days of MASK. Still collecting and having fun. My wife supports my hobby and always snoops around in my game/toy room man cave. I'm very lucky and blessed to have a wife that understands my fun hobby. Love your video and you and your wife are Awesome Pawsome! A+++
Wow! A wonderful trip down memory lane... I just finished watching your G.I. Joe videos and had to watch this next! You have inspired me to look for my lost collection of action figures in my parents basement. I now have the task of organizing my massive G.I. Joe figure & vehicle collection... I just hope I remember how to reassemble the aircraft carrier :)
This was amazing, I had so many of the same vehicles & minisets, even the rescue sets. I had the one you got there, Jackrabbit w/ Bruce Sato. I loved how the helicopter backpack became high mtn rescue w/ skis. The ones I always wondered if it could be made real was the RV w/ the minifighter, and Goliath. The pair always seemed the most realistic.
I cant find the words to express how awesome this collection is. Use to have many of those toys as a kid. I'm currently trying to slowly rebuild my collection of M.A.S.K. and it's freakin pricey. Great vid and great collection!!!
way cool... the same thing happened with my friend when she gave me her care bears .... she wanted to make sure they were all safe and together ... Awesome video love how Captain is talking and explaining while Melinda keeps digging ... can tell you both love vintage toys ... awesome. I had the Tollbooth thing that came in a lot ... I sold it had to keep with my not past the first year ideal of collecting LOL LOL. ah how I miss my Rhino.
a very cool collection indeed,M.A.S.K was a great cartoon and toyline, great playabilaty 2 vehicles in one and they came with the figures nice value for your dollar.
Wow what a pleasant blast from my childhood past...MASK was 3rd in line to my massive collection of Star Wars first, GI Joe second...but fun to see again. In an odd way It was neat seeing a woman seem to enjoy these items here in the video too..
Man that takes me back.Between me and my brother we had alot of those and some ones you didnt get in that box.I think i want to start collecting M.A.S.K. NOW.Great vid
Another great video! Must be a terrific feeling when someone entrusts cherished childhood toys and their memories to your enterprise. On a side note, you're gonna need a bigger living space at some point if this keeps up. ;-)
wow you guys are awesome. I love watching your videos. brings back so many memories. you guys inspired me to hunt down some of the toys that I didn't get as a kid. thanks .
@ 3:45 The Vampire's driver's name is Floyd Malloy. I got him along with Brad Turner and The Condor one birthday in the 80's. We were such lucky kids. Great video!
wow, you are so lucky 2 have these awesome M.A.S.K toys, still hoping they bring out this toy-line again, like they did with the ne he-man classics line, would be so sick. For now, still looking every day for more M.A.S.K toys 2 complete my own collection. subbed you guys channel, take care and happy easter, ;-)
Thats great, remember mask i was in middle school. The cool thing is how the vehicles are sort of a time capsule as in the mask commaro & sound wave from the transformers being a walkman cassette player. I,ve been collecting Gi Joe and Hotwheels my self and I just started collecting the GI Joe 25th anniversery Joes. It,s even better when you have a wife who supports your hobby.
Watching this video is an interesting insight into what your Christmas mornings must’ve been like. I’m an only child, though my best friend’s sister loved Gremlins and had a big poster Spike on her bedroom wall! In 1981 I was big time into Spider-Man and then the granddaughter of one of my dad’s best friends came over to the house and she didn’t want to play outside, she wanted to color and took to my Spider-Man coloring book! After that, it was like a switch was thrown in my head, I no longer was interested in Spider-Man for some reason!
MASK is awesome! Started adding bits of the toy line to my collection with a Boulderhill Playset and Outlaw coming my way this week which I can't wait for.
I am 38 years old and I envy the people in this video, holy crap :) My name is Chris BTW but im not the one who sent that box of epicness. I did have MASK toys back when I was a kid though :).
Agreed. Take the DarkStar laserlight figures for example. The creatures were well designed, and each figure came with weapons and a companion imp. It was one of my favorite figures, but got pulled due to the flint-striker on the back. It would be so easy for a toy company to remake those, replacing the flint with a small LED light, and strengthening the plastic chests. It's the same with the SilverHawks wings. They could easly be reissued using modern materials while keeping the original design.
Damn, I really am a "man-child". 35 years old, and I'm still totally drooling over this video.lol I use to have the Vampire (his name was Floyd something, my first M.A.S.K. toy and personal favorite), the Volcano, the Bulldog, and a bunch of the mini-figures that came with helmets and transforming accessories. It kills me to think of all of the great toys I've had and lost over the years. They just don't make them like this anymore. :)
"Calhoun Burns." Strange how some memories stay vivid. I never watched the show, but I remember the toyline, despite not owning any. When you're a kid, you tend to be aware of all the toys out there, even the ones you don't have. Maybe because of all the commercials and ads and toy catalogues. Well, I recall visiting my cousins' with my family at their house for a barbecue and my cousin pointing to one such catalogue and saying, "Look at that guy's name! Both of those are my mom's last names!" He was right. Calhoun was my aunt's maiden name (same as my mom) and Burns was her married name. They even got the order right.
i had scott and t-bob and from memory i had to assemble scott like a small model with glue? maybe i'm mistaken but i do remember having to assemble scott. i'd like to find them again. also fond memories of getting condor/brad for my birthday and for fun, my parents hid the toy in our living room and i had to find it :D had matt tracker too. man i loved this toy line. i gotta get out there and find this stuff again. to this day i still listen to the mask theme song full version on my ipod haha! love this channel thanks for the memories and keep up the good work its great stuff. thanks from melbourne, australia :)
Amazing reveals in this video: 3) How lucky that person was as a kid to have such a huge collection of awesome toys from a single line. 2) How much random knowledge of the MASK line that you have. 1) Women who laugh at the comment "evil Optimus Prime" exist.
The ones I had as a kid in order: Condor, Firefly, Piranha, Jackhammer, Thunderhawk, Switchblade, Vampire. The one's I wanted and never got: Gator, Hurricane, Manta, and Rhino.
The tiny plastic "tabs" that hold the wings back on "Switch Blade" were weak. One of them broke on Christmas morning! With just normal "solo play". So, one of the spring loaded wings was always out. Sure, I could hold it back, with my thumb, but I was just really disappointed with that, & pretty much didn't want to play with it anymore. I still have the Black Bronco (it's awesome) & the green motorcycle/helicopter. In the early 90's I bought from a "Flea Market" like 4 CARDED mask figures. The cards were a little warped from moisture & the bubbles were turning orange from the sun or heat. At least one of them was a carded "Adventure Set" with a little raft & some other accessories. I needed to "down size" my massive collection of most the same stuff that you have. So I sold them on ebay a couple years ago. One of the figures had a "bidding war" & got up to 3 times it's worth. (according to my previous research) I think they were later generation figures.
The only character I recall from the series is Matt Tracker while the vehicle Detonator was given to me...and got lost when my family went to stay in the province.
Never heard of "Detonator." I'm guessing that was from the final "Split Seconds" lineup which I admit I was not familiar with. Once it went to the racing series I kinda lost interest. All the MASK toys I owned were from seasons 1 and 2.
M.A.S.K toys are bad ass because they have opening doors. That feature never appeared on any of my toys in the 1990's. I got a lot of vehicles from The Lost World Jurassic Park line back then. Kenner made all the doors molded shut. Many vehicles were open top by necessity, which was annoying if you were reenacting scenes in the movie where it rained or was just pretending it was raining. Most were inaccurate to the films. The Net Trapper and Mobile Command Center were the most accurate vehicles.
That Thunderhawk went with me *everywhere*. I thought it was the coolest toy ever invented. No idea what happened to it. I have a vague memory of a kid stealing it from me one day, but that's probably a romanticized version of what was likely me losing it somewhere. I think I also remember my dad asking me once, "Aren't they the same as the Transformers?" - which, at the time, was like asking if water was wine. lol
Will you be doing more MASK toy repairs? Even an incomplete toy could be a great tutorial piece for inner mechanisms or showing trouble spots. As an example, I think videos revolving around or on MASK could be great spring boards leading to other videos. Also, Thank you for all the informative videos over the years.
Awesome channel. Subscribed. So much crap and nonsense on the internet and in the world these days......good to see a wholesome , clean reminder of what life used to be like for us as kids : ) And dude, you have a wife who is into M.A.S.K.......lucky guy!! : )
Floyd Malloy is in Vampire. Lester Sludge is Iguana. Rescue Mission with Bruce Sato is the adventure pack helicopter toy. Outlaw with Miles Mayhem and Nash Gorey. Collector is the tollbooth toy with Alex Sector. Billboard Blast comes with Dusty Hayes. Billboard Blast, collector are from the racing series. Outlaw is from series 2 and the helicopter toy solo is from the adventure packs. The ones sold in the US. I also used to have all of series 1 and 2 and most of the racing series and a few of the ones called the split seconds series which includes the vehicles which split into two parts with one regular figure and a clone figure which they called a hologram figure. I have Wolfbeast with Miles Mayhem and its clone
They sure don't make toys like this anymore , even Lego's nowadays is boring .... toys back then was inventive , creative, had a durable life ( if taking care of ) . In general toys from nowadays is cheap plastic the price became ridiculously pricy and the life is inexistant , since stupid internet, smartphones, consoles are there kids doesn't interest in toys anymore which is very sad :-( . Great video RetroBlasting ! Glad to be born in the end Seventies and to enjoy the last 2 decades the 1980's and 1990's with alot magic, where all was possible , everyone laughed, many hours fun with friends playing with those toys ....sigh... I miss those times alot . Nowadays all is cruel too much virtual, nothing hooks me up anymore they changed the world evolution too fast and to its worst -_-
M.A.S.K. seems to forever be obscure to the retro pop culture spotlight while the other stuff of the time gets more exposure. At the time the coolest thing about them was that they could do things with the push of buttons and fire weapons. T-Bob arrived after everyone wondered why he wasn't produced, only to some disappointment from not being cartoon-accurate. I got it nonetheless. I went crazy for the Outlaw summer 1986; its cannon seemed powerful enough to break a nose. I stopped following in 1987 as the toys completely changed and then faded away.
I know right? And when Hasbro released that "Specialist Trakker" figure for GI Joe back in 2008, I had hopes for a revival. More so now with the new IDW comic that was released.
Hey guys have a question, I have a thunderhawk and one of the guns that slide into the gull wing door keeps popping down not staying in place. Do you have any suggestions as to how to fix this?
Am I wrong or did they make even smaller versions of some of those figures? I seem to remember this, though in the 80's tiny figures were all the rage...
LOL T-Bob and Scott Tracker were not the best figures to have as toys. This is amazing to see all of these. I loved the M.A.S.K. toys as a kid. Sly Rax was my favorite and would like to get him again. The windshield on the Piranha is very easily broken. The figure with the helicopter was one of the adventure pack figures. I'm sure you've had plenty of time to research the toys by now ha ha. I think it was Bruce Sato for that one? I had Miles Mayhem and his jetpack and Matt Tracker with the jungle pack. I actually had always wanted Matt with the costal patrol pack. With the vintage toy lines getting a reboot, I hope M.A.S.K. is one that gets a reboot. I had the Billboard Blast from the racing series. That series of the line was a fun one. Of the normal series, the best toy I had for the good guys was Hondo and the Hurricane. Can't beat the '57 Chevy ha ha. Boulder Hill and the Outlaw would have been the best to get for me with how much of a sucker I am for playsets.
I 2nd that. The 80s toys are 2nd to none in my book. I guess its because that is what i grew up with. But if u really think about it the 80s offered sooo much. I know i was a lucky kid as my mom saved almost every one of my toys i had as a kid. She even saved the org boxes. The sad thing is about 8 years ago when i moved out I trow away some of the toys and org boxs. This was before i new i would want them. What really hurts is it was ME who tossed it. Lucky i still have about 70% of my org toys
Excellent unboxing video of M.A.S.K toys. I have a full and complete collection of M.A.S.K toys. Would you like my complete collection of M.A.S.K toys as I need to save space at home, also I have an emotional attachment to them and don't want to sell them or have the collection split up.
Retroblast is a cool cool program but im sorry about a comment that i made before it's great to have a woman enjoy what u enjoy my x girl friend got mad at me & threw my toys down a flight of stairs box & all so sorry 4 my comment keep up the excellent work god bless
Wow, You guys look like little kids. So young! great video!
I was a little too old for M.A.S.K. but my younger brother was very into it. Awesome wife! Who not only participates in your love of retro toys, but also encourages it.
Count your blessings.

True friend!
Uhm…………
Delorean's may be a niggle tho' 🤣 11:15
Wow! What a fantastic collection of MASK! It's amazing how immaculate everything is!
I dug my old stuff out of storage and have been replacing broken & worn springs, lost masks (and tiny bombs), and peeling stickers. good god ! #1 to have a wife to share in this concept is LIFE EPIC ! and #2 THIS OPEN BOX VIDEO IS SOOOOOOOOOO SPECIAL ! WOW :)
I really enjoyed watching this unboxing. Great collection indeed!
You have a well conditioned collection, great stuff. Even with Scott and T-Bob, and Floyd Malloy w/Vampire.
So awesome that you both are into these 80's toys and will take great care of them.
Awesome Video! I love MASK! Always wanted those toys as a young kid but could never afford them. Now as a grown adult I've been collecting all my childhood nostalgic retro toys from the 80's.
This brings back many great memories! I used to get up early every morning to watch M.A.S.K. Still remember the words to the theme song.
Great video on the old MASK toys guys. I just recently pulled out a ton of my old Mask and other toys and have been cleaning them back up for display.

I'm sure this has been said a million times already, but...Melinda? Coolest wife EVER. You guys rock! Great videos, you have a new subscriber. ;)
wow thats the biggest collection of mask figures i've seen online. thanks for posting.
wow, you are so lucky 2 have these awesome M.A.S.K toys, still hoping they bring out this toy-line again, like they did with the ne he-man classics line, would be so sick. For now, still looking every day for more M.A.S.K toys 2 complete my own collection.

This is super awesome! :^)
Such unboxing of pure nostalgia.. :-)
Watching this video is an interesting insight into what your Christmas mornings must’ve been like. I only ever had Thunderhawk and Rhino, they were such fun toys. I got the chance to play with Jackhammer once, very fun.
That is awesome. MASK were very underrated as a toy line. I loved every MASK toy I bought - none of them were clunkers.
Ooo having flashbacks playing with the condor and firefly and the jackhammer.
MASK is awesome! Started adding bits of the toy line to my collection with a Boulderhill Playset and Outlaw coming my way this week which I can't wait for.
Very Cool! Thank you for Sharing!
Hi Michael Manny here i love the mask collection i only had the green motor cycle but nice memories dude.

Amazing reveals in this video:
3) How lucky that person was as a kid to have such a huge collection of awesome toys from a single line.
2) How much random knowledge of the MASK line that you have.
1) Women who laugh at the comment "evil Optimus Prime" exist.
Melinda's gonna lead the mission, and Michael's got such supervision
Great, now I wonder, was it always "Supervision" and not "Super Vision"
The ones I had as a kid in order: Condor, Firefly, Piranha, Jackhammer, Thunderhawk, Switchblade, Vampire. The one's I wanted and never got: Gator, Hurricane, Manta, and Rhino.
No Volcano Van? I loved that toy!
The tiny plastic "tabs" that hold the wings back on
"Switch Blade" were weak. One of them broke on Christmas morning!
With just normal

So, one of the spring loaded wings was always out.
Sure,
I could hold it back, with my thumb, but I was just really disappointed with that, & pretty much didn't want to play with it anymore.
I still have the Black Bronco (it's awesome) & the green motorcycle/helicopter.
In the early 90's I bought from a "Flea Market" like 4 CARDED mask figures.
The cards were a little warped from moisture & the bubbles were turning orange from the sun or heat. At least one of them was a carded
"Adventure Set" with a little raft & some other accessories.
I needed to "down size" my massive collection of most the same stuff that you have.
So I sold them on ebay
a couple years ago.
One of the figures had a
"bidding war" & got up to 3 times it's worth. (according to my previous research) I think they were later generation figures.

Also, Thank you for all the informative videos over the years.
i just started collecting mask got the firefly jackhammer and fixen to get piranha all complete
You should do a video of yourselves and who you are too ... I would love to se that as well in combination with your cool channel! :)
The unboxing videos are GREAT! It makes it more personal. Thank you both for sharing!! :-)
Outlaw was an amazing toy. I wish I still had it and all my other M.A.S.K. toys. The only piece I still have is Thunderhawk.

wow, that's so cool! would LOVE to see the M.A.S.K restoration work you are doing, do you have a website?
Nowadays all is cruel too much virtual, nothing hooks me up anymore they changed the world evolution too fast and to its worst -_-
Question- what should I apply to get the tires happy?
Digging out my MASK toys to play with again
the best toys line up in the 80s so regret i didnt kept them :( its all gone :(
Yes indeed I did thanks for asking me about them. : )
M.A.S.K. seems to forever be obscure to the retro pop culture spotlight while the other stuff of the time gets more exposure.
That was great video
Can't believe a toy company hasn't revived this line. They had awesome playability
I know right? And when Hasbro released that "Specialist Trakker" figure for GI Joe back in 2008, I had hopes for a revival. More so now with the new IDW comic that was released.
My cousin had all of these and they were so cool. Don't know what happened to them all.
If you have an extra Top lid for the rhino (the cabin) let me know and how much thanks
Hey guys have a question, I have a thunderhawk and one of the guns that slide into the gull wing door keeps popping down not staying in place. Do you have any suggestions as to how to fix this?
i had the condor and the thunderhawk camaro
11:15 Lol! How many Deloreans do you have?!!
Boulder Hill and the Outlaw would have been the best to get for me with how much of a sucker I am for playsets.
wow, awesome! :)
i used 2 have hurricane...I REMEMBER WHEN THE REAL ONE WAS AT KNOTT'S BERRY FARM BACK IN THE DAY
The Chev was my dream car growing up. Some day when I retire. 10:16 I'll have a real version.
Nice video, Guys.
i used to have the bellair
i still dream of the boulder hill i never got
I love you M.A.S.K
Gee, thanks! :)
Lucky i still have about 70% of my org toys
melinda is so awesome !
I had so many M.A.S.K toys growing up, and then my family sold it without telling me.
Somebody wants me to take care of his/her vintage Star Wars figure action? Let's do it.
raven was my favourate
Micheal you're cool too :)
i wish i were a son of rich guy ..and afforded to buy at least one pcs back in 90's ...
I didn't know Trent Reznor collected toys.
true very true.
wish someone would sent me a massive box like that !! :(
He had a lot of stuff.
I can do that but it will be a day or two before I can. : )
Excellent unboxing video of M.A.S.K toys. I have a full and complete collection of M.A.S.K toys. Would you like my complete collection of M.A.S.K toys as I need to save space at home, also I have an emotional attachment to them and don't want to sell them or have the collection split up.
