As one from the Caribbean, I believe each island have something special , but we all have sun, sand and beautiful water! My island have the barrier reef! Wouldn’t trade for anything, it protects us from the hurricanes… My you continue to explore and enjoy this part of the cosmos…Africa is just as beautiful! 💕🙏🏽💕🙏🏽

When I visited the Bahamas in the 80’s transportation was only scooters… my husband and I rode around the whole Island in an hour. Bahamas is expensive but I was happy that they used US dollars so I didn’t need to buy exchange. I enjoyed the stew grouper fish with Johnnie cake. Enjoy yourself!
That not true we had car in the Bahamas for as long I could remember and I am 53 , so it not true and my father had a taxi limo in the 70 so please don’t give false information

The Bahamas is beautiful, Their national flag colors really does suit their nation frl. 1:04:38 what the gentleman said right there is so important and under-utilized in our region. The last caricom heads of government meeting addressed that very same issue with tangible steps being taken to make this a reality.
I am so loving your videos. This is the new Bahamas. It makes me believe that the old Bahamas is gone. To be Paradise Island was ruined by Atlantis. I am so glad you are going to Eleuthera as it has been 40 years since I was looking to buy property in Rainbow Bay in the North. There were many dairy farms. It was the year that the Bahamas gained their independence and everyone was advised to hold off purchasing property until the country stabilized. Several known people live on Eleuthera. You will give me a chance to see how it has changed. If you want to read the true history of the Bahamas, specifically Nassau, you might want to read "Syndicate In The Sun" and "Syndicate Abroad". I had relatives that moved to Spanish Wells to escape North America's Civil War. There used to be a HOT customs guy at the Eleuthera Airport. You must visit Ecuador. Northern Ecuador. The cost of living is a quarter of the cost in the U.S. and Bahamas and all food is fresh. Come on down!

Wow, that is a super small room.
Bahamas are expensive because of the big Celebrities from America taking over the place. Because they don’t have to pay income taxes, corporate taxes and estate taxes. So they rather invest in the Bahamas building big mansions and buying private jets and big yachts and drove up the cost of living over there.
It's probably not that expensive for the locals given that they are not taxed to death like so many other countries. Also, they have free health care and free schooling up to the university level. I guess the average salary can go a long way since no taxes come out from their paycheck.

The Currency of Bahamas is pegged to the USD. If US appreciates, it appreciates too. If US loses value, it loses value too. That's how it is. It's not an independent floating currency.

We get our produce from the. Supermarkets. Most of the local growers sell their goods to packing houses and the supermarkets
There food importation bill is high.

I’ve heard folks say you don’t see the locals in Bahamas or open markets they just show you where the tourists go.
they see the locals behind cash registers in shops and restaurants or on bustops at schools, office buildings etc ...we do work and our poulation is small so we won't be out as plenteous as some other destinations

Bahamians are not street walkers. We do not have any open markets with noise.
@@jennalud4748 aren't all destinations tourist countries...meaning anyone can visit? but if you mean Tourism is our bread and butter you are correct it is our number 1 industry and yes as beautiful as our country is we have ghettos/slums/inner cities, which is normal in every country...we don't try to hide our ghettos from tourists because we are ashamed, we do that to protect our tourist or to minimize the chances of anything bad happening...I don't see any Caribbean country or any country for that matter highlighting their ghettos in their ads for tourist to visit..do yall?..oh yes we have crime too in case you wanted to point that out....

Please do not compare this part of the world with Africa. First the average person in Africa does not make even a quarter of what people in the Bahamas make, also almost everything you buy in Bahamas is imported, not so in Kenya.
Comparison for education purposes isn’t bad. It’s just giving perspective. In the same way the infrastructure is better than most of Africa. Nothing wrong with comparison
