the scene design of this episode is awesome: (1) Mephisito's two close up scenes during his conversation with Mizorogi is piece of art. (2) When Himeya transforms in Nexus, is just beautiful.
And adding to point #1: I love how they accentuated Mephisto calling himself Mizorogi's "shadow" by not changing the VA for the Dark Giant even before he merged with Mizorogi.

I'm guessing that was just a mind trick Dark Zagi (the last boss of this series) did to Mizorogi, I mean Zagi is shown to be able of entering the Ruins himself, and plus Zagi's host Ishibori has been on the team the longest too, whose to say he couldn't have planted those dreams in Mizorogi as the years went by...
Perhaps it also means that Mizorogi was becoming Nexus too, but his fear corrupted him, including his dream so he became Mephisto instead (probably Unknown Hand's plan). Much like Kumon is a Dunamist and he was almost corrupted by darkness (Mizorogi's plan) because of sadness a couple episode before.
