    I love batch-cutting, too! It's very time-consuming but so worth it! You mentioned you shared a video for batch-cutting months ago and you got some hate? That's ridiculous and so mean. You're sharing your process, right or wrong. You do YOU! Haters can change the channel if they don't like it or agree! I enjoyed the video and your energy! 🥰

    This is genius! I think my ADHD is bad enough that by the time I cut everything out, I wouldn't want to make it anymore lol, but I love that this works for you. I'm gonna start doing it on like, half scale. With 4-6 things at once. You're so for smart thinking of this! :D

    Yes! I batch cut too! I’ve been sewing 50 years, and just started batch cutting last year and it’s upped my sewing game. I’ve been cutting out about 10 projects at a time and I keep the cut fabric in separate zippered project bags I got from Amazon with any notions. I plan out my wardrobe, prioritize and then I get cutting. Cutting out is my least favorite sewing step. Somehow, the batch cutting helps me keep motivated. I love to make lists and organize. I have a couple of your pattern choices on my Spring plans. I have that McCall’s 8001 cut out and ready to go, I love how it looks. I also have the skirt, McCall’s 8149 cut out in a white denim. If you do a review or sew along I’ll be watching!

      Aww I love this!!! Thank you for sharing! Someone else has mentioned those zippered project bags on Amazon. I need to check those out because they would definitely be helpful. I’m looking forward to making M8001 and M8149 too! I think they’ll be nice additions to the wardrobe. Happy Sewing!

    I’m a batch cutter myself. Taking advantage of large empty tables when I get access to them. But I organize them by thread color, then fly through them. Unless they vex me or the darn serger decides not to lay. I’m on a light blue/purple kick right now, for example. Love just sitting and sewing, one after the other. Did enjoy, sorry about haters, not sure they were having the great time we do when we batch cut. ❤

    Batch cutting can definitely be useful and I dabble with it sometimes. I'm more likely to batch-cut knits, some cottons or non garment projects when I do it. When it comes to rayon or linen I want to cut and start sewing right away as they tend to grow and can ruin the project. Even cottons cut on the bias or with curves can warp.

    YOU JUST POPPED UP! I’m so excited and a new subscriber. Used to batch cut. When kids were little and went to bed. Usually no more than six. My kids only wore school clothes that I made up until they were in 3rd grade. But as a 71 year old great grandma I can’t go that strong anymore. Loved your pattern choices and colors with your complexion. Happy sewing and I hope nothing has to be thrown into time out in the corner for a couple of days until it decides to cooperate with you. 😏

    I started out sewing clothes. I’m tall, so I could adjust patterns to fit my long arms and legs. 😊 Now, I quilt. I love this idea. I often batch cut quilt blocks and set them aside so they are ready when I have time to sew. Cutting is not my favorite part either. Everyone’s process is different, and everyone should do what works for them. Don’t listen to the haters! I enjoyed your video and your enthusiasm.

    I love the batch sewing idea. Have done this with cutting out the same top out of several materials at once. Like you I hate the measuring, laying out and cutting the fabric, but I take my time or else I make mistakes (done so for 64 years). Also, I am sure that you do this step, I prewash all my fabrics before cutting out the pattern. I love all your fabric choices with the patterns. Always wanted a Sew She Shed!!!!

      I wish I would of taped it, but it was well before the time we stand in now, it was in the late 70s early 80s. A short example of this is after the batch cutting, then come the batch pinning of the different steps, pin all the back seams, sew all of them, then pin the front seams, then sew all of them, then pin the pleats on the waist, then sew them, then pin the all pants together using the inseam and so forth until all steps are complete. When you finish the last step you will have how ever many that you decided to cut completed. Of course it depends on the style when measuring how much time it will take. The pants that I was making had pockets and a botton for closure, and not fly zippers.

    • @marlysmithsonian5746
      @marlysmithsonian5746 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dwellwithFatine how do you arrange fabrics to pin and cut out? Do you put a bunch of fabric on top of each other then pin them all together with the pattern on top? That part is confusing for me. TY

    I've recently got into batch cutting too. I don’t have a dedicated sewing space, so I end up just taking over the living room for awhile. If I'm putting together a print at home pdf pattern that takes time and the takes up most of the living room floor, then tracing the patterns off onto tracing paper, then cutting into the fabric all take awhile of just being on the floor--so it works out to not *also* be taking up the table with my machine and notions, and other parts of the room with my iron and ironing board that I'm not using.

    You are lucky that you fit into a pattern without making a muslin. Cutting into fabric without testing a pattern is a disaster for me since my weight fluctuates so often. Just curious-do you check your pattern/fabric to be sure each piece is on grain before cutting?

      No, I certainly have fails every once in a while 😩 I definitely cut on the grain. Any exceptions I make would be a pattern that’s specifically intended to be cut on the bias, or if it’s a 4-way stretch knit and/or I’m limited on fabric.

    I used to batch cut patterns but have ended up not sewing them when life got in the way. Just do a couple otherwise you will end up with lots of unsewn fabrics lying around. I hv been moving my stuff around the pattern packaging are now separated from the cut fabric.

    • @weceestyle
      @weceestyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, as I mentioned in the video, you know your capabilities better than anyone else so the amount of projects I cut may not be suitable for everyone so 2-3 is a great number to test the waters, or implement into your sewing practices. I’m already on my 6th make from the projects I cut and I can’t wait to share with you all!

    When do you mark them?

    • @weceestyle
      @weceestyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yayyy!!! I’m excited for you 😜 I cut my notches when I first cut my pattern pieces, but I don’t transfer markings until I start sewing that particular project. Some of these marking tools fade and since I don’t sew some of these projects for a while, I don’t want my markings to fade too quickly.

    Fabulous job! I've recently started small batch cutting stack and it was enjoyable to do the cutting and marking using this approach. I was curious if the fabric on the NL6650 dress was directional because you flipped the pattern?

    • @weceestyle
      @weceestyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! 🙏🏾 Yes, that was directional. I very rarely ever stray from pattern instructions when cutting the pattern. Construction? Sometimes 🙈 But almost never when cutting my pattern pieces because that’s the step in sewing that I almost always make a careless error.

    • @catherineb6565
      @catherineb6565 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@weceestyle OH DRATS!! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️I was really hoping I was wrong on that! I hope you have enough to cut a second piece because I think the pattern and fabric were a good match and you'd look amazing in it.
      I've been there so I totally feel your pain.

    • @weceestyle
      @weceestyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m sorry, I think I misunderstood you. I can’t recall the pattern instructions, but if it didn’t advise me to flip the pattern, then I took it upon myself to flip to conserve fabric waste. Regardless, I’m in great shape because the fabric is 4-way stretch and the fabric has the same symmetrical design. One side is the back on the fold and I reversed it for the front on the fold. We’re all good over here and I can’t wait to start sewing it 👌🏾 Thank you so much for checking!

    Do wash material before cutting out?

    • @weceestyle
      @weceestyle  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I rarely prewash. I do if I’m working with a fabric prone to shrinkage, but most times I wash afterwards and I have never had an issue with this because the knits and poly blends I work with don’t shrink on most occasions.
