A true story about hope and symbolism. This one always hit different from the others. Always felt like The realistic comic book movie. Character plot motives,emotional interactions, and emotional music are some of the best tools for immersing people into the movie.
I saw a comment about Gotham once, and I think it's true: "the only thing that is not corruptible in Gotham is the rain... The rain is only pure thing in that city"

That two-note motif that just goes BWAAAAAAAAAAARP BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARP is among my all-time fav movie scores, but most Nolan Batman ambiences include much more of the 'adventure' themes, which are busy and distracting. I want to get lost in a rainy Gotham, not caught in a car chase. This mix has the perfect balance of the ominous droning stuff I love and the occasional epic themes like punctuation. Very very well done and perfectly true to the character of the movie.

I love the orange tint that Batman begins had, really sets a calming tone for a corrupt and dangerous place like Gotham
I liked it too, but I think that it was either trying to convey that everything was in chaos - like everything turns orange during a forest fire. I also think it was trying to convey either a dawn - dawn of a new gotham, or dusk - where Bruce embraces his darkness and things get darker before they get lighter.

Why do we fall?
Imagine living in this place and this is the view.. Jungle of concrete, lifeless and grey. Death whispering in your ear with no escape of the reality you're trapped in. Darkness slowly obsessing your mind, turning you into a puppet, a pawn of society with the sole purpose to go to work and 'improve' the very society full of the same pawns as yourself. It is embrassing the darkness. Forgetting who you really are, where you come from and what is real.
Bruce was missing the same hope everyone else does, that's where he finds it far away from the city, from the repetativeness and similalrity of everything and everyone. He turns that hope into dark shadow, to blend in with society yet to remain unseen, he gives back hope to the people that there is still good, it's never too late to become once again who we are and to differ the toxic habits we inherited along the way.
Tell us how you lived, not how you went down in flames.. Your actions define who you are, who you have been and who you will become.

The Christopher Nolan trilogy does not age well. In retrospect, it only proves the same thing we learned from Tim Burton's movies; that Batman, like Superman, needs the greater DC Comics universe in order to exist, and isolating him or any DC character from the greater DC Comics universe creates stagnation.
