    Black Mountain Honey is a No Nonsense Beekeeping Channel.
    We are based in North Wales and manage around 150 colonies of bees, plus nucleus colonies.
    We produce Great Taste Award winning honey and sell nucleus colonies to members of the public.
    Our 6 frame overwintered nucleus colonies sell out very fast every year so early ordering is advisable.

    We supply F1 Mated Buckfast Queens throughout the season. These are genetics used by the UK's biggest bee farmer - Murray McGregor - and are not available to general public, except through resellers like us! Check out our queens page on our website.

    We are passionate about beekeeping and really enjoy helping beekeepers through our TH-cam channel.
    On our channel you can find information on making splits with swarm cells, labelling jars of honey, making increase with queen cells, grafting larvae, foulbrood and disease inspection, honey extraction and machinery, top tips for beginners, products reviews, instructions and guidance plus much more.
    #NO NONSENSE BEEKEEPING is a UK based beekeeping channel, designed to keep beekeeping as simple and enjoyable as possible. There are no overly complicated techniques or intricate pieces of equipment.
    We cover all beekeeping topics ranging from queen rearing, disease recognition/control, honey extraction, swarm management/collection, how to make splits and much more!
    My personal favourite aspects of beekeeping are selecting queens for rearing, rearing queens for mating, making up nucs for overwintering and collecting swarms.
    We aim to bridge the gap between commercial and hobbyist beekeepers and cater for beekeepers of all experience levels.

    What causes the bottle to spin when you turn the crank handle? it doesnt look like its connected?

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's the label coming out that turns the bottle. It sticks to a portion and the tension in the spool then spins the bottle. Kinda hard to explain

    Hi Lawrence, I remembered you did a Labelroo review and have just come back to watch it again. One question, I notice you added your tamper label after the main label, how easy would it be to put the tamper label on first and then look to align the main label such that the tamper label was in the same relative position every time? I ask this because I always put my tamper label on first with the main label over the top.
    Many thanks
    Pete

    Hi, thanks for such an informative video. I wanted to ask if this machine works with any labels on a roll as long as its in a 76mm core? Or do you need to buy labels on rolls from somewhere specific?

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. No worries. Any labels will with with a 76mm core. Need to be outside wound as opposed to inside wound though. With the short side as the leading edge.

    • @cryptob1752
      @cryptob1752 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the quick reply 👍, when you say shortest edge leading...what do you mean exactly? Also, is there any minimum size bottle and label this machine uses. We would like to use it for spray perfume bottles, around 10cm tall, 4cm diameter. Labels might only be 4-5 cm wide potentially...is that too small? Thanks

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cryptob1752 Just means the shorter edge needs to come off the side of the roll. Ours are 200mm x 50mm and its the 50mm edge that comes off the side of the roll. Not the 200mm. Should work with your labels I would have thought. Its quite adjustable

    • @cryptob1752
      @cryptob1752 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Black Mountain Honey oh okay, I get what you mean. That might be an issue with ours because our bottles are quite slim? The labels will be maybe 3cm X 9cm, the 9cm will be the edge of the label, 3cm will be top and bottom. So it would need to fed off the 9cm edge.

    • @BlackMountainHoney
      @BlackMountainHoney  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cryptob1752 Yes. That might be a bit of an issue. Its likes to wrap around with the narrow edge first.

      @@BlackMountainHoney we thought the product would be suitable for our application but as we are using a top sticker, it needed to align a certain way with the label on the jar, we couldn't line it up accurately therefore the presentation was no good. Also, we found it difficult to make the label straight, we followed your video and the instructions provided but no luck making it work properly. Product wise its not bad, but the aftercare has been a pain. As a startup ever penny counts and this has eaten into our budget and we would like to recoup our money.
