9:30 Perhaps that's the business model: Sell only huge portions so the price looks acceptable. This way everybody is forced to spend more money because there are no small portions. If smaller portion were available some people might only buy one small instead of three or four for the whole family. So oversizing ensures more revenue. Lust for shaved ice -> spend the larger amount of money or starve.
I think this either has come because everybody does it or this selling practice has shown to be necessary in order to stay in business. If you start to sell small portions you might find out that you are not making enough revenue to cover costs (and time).
Perhaps you can watch a place selling the stuff and do an analysis of how much they sell over a day. And pperhaps do a calculation about revenue if customers had a chance to buy smaller portions. Of course you have to make some assumptions whether a family might have bought only two small portions for the kids and the parents not really wanting some. But with the larger portion they willy-nilly also consumed it.
You could also talk to some customers (more or less secretly) whether they would have bought the same total amount if it was offered in smaller sizes portions.
That will give you a better idea how the demand is and how well the sellers do.
Perhaps smaller sized portion will entice people to buy more often? And by that way also generate enough business (revenue).
First ask yourself how you would change your buying behavior with a different offering. And then check with other people whether they see it like you.

Makes total sense and I guess I didn’t really share gave out to much information of what I’d be doing. But I won’t be selling them by “cone” it’s more of a party rental package deal. So it only makes sense to do smaller portions.
