Ive never seen a fast winch in real scale. They're all pretty slow intentionally. Speed will cause more bind ups. I would think the speed of these small scale ones would replicate a real ones. That thing has some great torque! So cool that they have this stuff for our hobby isn't it?

Keep that extra line on. If you break it during a comp you can just tie the hook back on instead of putting a new line on it.

Check adjustments on controller. I can set the speed of the winch with kinda like end points. Also it picks up the back of the rig because it's mounted behind the front axle

I've run an Amazon blue case 35kg servo on 3s direct power with pretty good results however I killed that servo when I swapped it into another rig without resetting the steering endpoints which wiped out the gears set. The control board was fine. I bet you'd be fine running that on 8.4 volts. The increase I speed could be worth it.
