Today we’re making an original of mine called the Wicked Word! It’s Halloween, and this cocktail is scary good. I used the Last Word template for this recipe (equal parts base spirit, 2 liqueurs, & citrus), but added an element of showmanship - fire! The result’s an ominous concoction looking more like an enchanted potion than a refined cocktail. Mind the flames and enjoy responsibly. Happy Halloween, everyone!

Happy Halloween, everyone! 🎃
Yes Spooky season is upon us and it's delivered a spooky handsome man with a delicious cocktail 🍸🎃
Happy Halloween to you all
Freya's the star of the show today!! Cooooool!! Happy Halloween!!
Happy Halloween Anders! You seem quite “spirited” in this one. Cheers ❤
Happy Halloween, guys 🎃
How the content is produced is a BIG part of why we love watching.
A special thanks to Az!
🍹🍸
Honestly doing the stir after pouring the sambuca can add to the theatrics. Like stirring the last ingredient into a cauldron. Very cool!
Anders’s awkward spooky intro is my best reason to smile today! 😂
The pour with the flaming black sambuca into the nick and nora looked perfect. Great presentation for a fun cocktail. Happy spooky times!
Cheers
I love when your pup makes an appearance! Thanks for another great cocktail and video!
I was hoping today would be a Halloween cocktail, you didn’t disappoint! This one looks awesome, as I love anise/licorice flavor. Don’t have any black Sambuca on hand, but to the liquor store tomorrow.
The spooky effects are off the hook! I'm partial to the 'Thing' "special effects." Another amazing video and drink! Thank you!
A new cocktail that worked the first time? Spooooky! That flaming presentation was great.
Always a treat when we get an Anders’ original recipe! Still hoping for a cocktail book from you one day! Wonderful aesthetic and presentation of the drink.
As an aside, Sambuca is the one spirit that I have a revulsion towards. Everyone has that one spirit or drink that they overindulged in their youth and can’t stand anymore. For me it was Sambuca one night in high school. Can’t touch the stuff a decade and a few years later!
Made this tonight and it was spectacular!! Orange drink becomes black when you pour freaking fire into the glass (with booze of course). You are a wizard Anders!! Three cocktails and I still have my eye brows and beard!
How exciting! Stoked that it turned out well for you. Happy Halloween y'all!
This was a great one! Thanks Anders and Az
That looks wicked!
After the intro, when you rose up, you reminded me of John Carradine as Dracula in the 1940s.
Very nice!
Love the soundtracks, Az!
no lie the second I started this I was like “there better be a costumed dog in this gd video”. you never disappoint.
Yay halloween! Thx you two!
Happy holidays all, this drink looks amazing, can't wait to give it a try
love the original. Happy Halloween. cheers
We LOVE watching your videos!!
Cheers! Happy Halloween 🎃 👻!
This is a great cocktail! I love the flavors!
Happy Halloween Guys!! Pup is super cute!
Cheers! Happy Halloween!
A great episode as always and hope the three of y’all have a safe and happy Halloween 🎃!
To the bar!🍸
Very cool
This is so cool!
Soo Wicked 🎃
Yeah... the signature move... the initial shake... cool!
Fun video! I love it!
Great looking cocktail and I loved the purple bar lighting
So I tried this. It’s like a mouthful of black jelly beans. Which I LOVE!!! OutSTANDIng Anders.
You guys are the best.
amazin
@6:27 Az's entrance = epic 🧛♀
Next level soundtrack!
Awww, the dog has a costume. I don't really like alcohol or cocktails. I just like learning things and your videos are neat
I appreciate this channel. Love that Jack o lantern!!!!
Great drink and fresh tasting. Blue flame while pouring was awesome. Agreed that it’s not a pretty drink but just find a dark room with the fire place going and u won’t notice.
Love the cocktail and especially Freya!!😍 🎉
Such a charming family
I just made your cocktail, I love Zambuca. This is a winner!!
Very impressive original cocktail! 🥳👍
completely agree, there's nothing quite as haunting as the innocent laughter of children...
Happy Halloween, Anders & Az. Thanks for the greatness. HH!,Freya
Cheers! Happy Halloween!
My parents always keep a bottle of sambuca around, I’ll have to give this a try next time I’m over there. You the goat anders!
That blue flame pour is ridiculously cool 😍
Having one now. Thank you. It is more balanced than when I switched absinthe for chartreuse in a last word. The cognac and sweetness of both liqueurs helps the balance. Though a float of absinthe would help the fire 🔥
Anders that was hilarious and a fine looking cocktail.
Happy Halloween Y’all
Thanks! Loved the video, and sounds delicious. Not sure I want a whole bottle of sambuca though.
I'm hosting a small (not halloween) event next week, I'll definitely be adding this to the list! Living in the UK, Sambuca is a standard that too many people get an unhealthy distain for ... I'll be looking forward to changing that with this drink!
Perfect drink for Halloween and who can go past the adorable costume
“….and a sense of adventure.” 😂
Great episode and I loved how it ended with dog tricks ❤
Made it tonight. Firstly, what a show! That looked so cool!!!
But more important...this is delicious!!! So good!
Thanks for this one!
Looks delicious! As a child, a fave memory is this family friend who came for dinner and set the sambuca on fire. I was in the 7 th grade, and it is a favorite memory. Happy Halloween
Haha that beat drop when pouring 😂 noice
Hi Anders, I have made this and am now enjoying it. Made to your noted spec when you first posted it.
Very impressed! A lovely flavour combination.
Nick from York
Glad this recipe came out, I needed something for a Halloween party tonight and this fits perfect! I decided my garnish is a twizzler which will also double as a fun straw. It will help make it tastier for people who aren't into flavors besides sweet.
That was tasty. Since i made it for myself clear sambuca and no flames. Nice balance. I am a anise fan but it wasn't overwhelming.
great drink! and a huge thanks for the proper use of the word, "momentarily". WORD!
I got scared you weren’t uploading today thank you
Hi Anders….What spectacular presentation!!👌👌👌you really embrace the Halloween spirit!🎃🎃..and I didn’t mind the “no history” of the drink……well thought out, super fun, and creative!👏👏👏 Enjoy the weekend and Happy Halloween!😁😁🎃🎃
hey looks like maison rouge is back with a new bottle!
Yeah I was pretty happy to see it back
Hi Anders, great video, per the usual. I love the idea. I tried this right now, but I used the Pernod anise liqueur and coloured it with butterfly pea with way too much to make it quickly as dark as possible.
With the lemon it turned into this beautiful rich purple with a hint of dirtyness from the lemon. Tasted great! Thank you so much for this recipe and I wish you a spooky Halloween.
Didn’t have cognac but really wanted to try this. Did it with dry curaçao and it was awesome!
I love the classics, both modern and old ones, but every once in a while we do need some flare (c wut I did thur?).
Looks awesome, happy Halloween to the three of you!
My son is 18 (and we both believe trick or treating ends at 12) so it’s now adult Halloween!
Congratulations on your engagement!
Awesome cocktail creation! More Freya content, please :)
Sticking to the absinthe myself for Halloween
Nothing wrong with that
"Hey, it's Spoooooooky Aaaaaaanders."
Always entertaining....but Freya steals the show this time!!
I had to substitute the sambuca with .5 absinthe and .5 triple sec, it was still really good!
Happy Halloween! And amazing riff. Thinking about what I have on the shelf I might try replacing the sambuca with Picon Amer 🤔
“I hear children laughing... It's very scary"😂😂😂😅
Great drink for the season Anders. Just made it and found it a little too sweet for my taste but great nonetheless to celebrate Halloween. We just prepared the candy for the kids so no better way to accompany that.
Frey o lantern!
Happy Halloween fellas! I might not celebrate Halloween here, but I will make this cocktail
this was filmed under the most dangerous and scary conditions.
Actually it was filmed under broad daylight during the summer of Chicago with 45 degrees and the sun beating the town mercilessly
That drop flame insert though..
Hi Anders ... another fantastic holiday themed drink. 👍👍 Couldn't find any Maison Rouge Cognac VSOP in my area, so I'm using D'Usse cognac. I definitely want to try this as is for this weekend.
However, this drink does offer some creative directions to explore. I have a few ideas and will post the outcomes IF they turn out. I have the concept in my head but I don't think it will execute perfectly on the first try ... unlike the Wicked Word. 🙂 Cheers!!
I used to make jello shots for the adults taking thier kids trick or treating and I had three that were awesome. The first was just grape jello and vodka, second was orange jello and Fireball and the third was lime jello and absinth. I hate Fireball but with the orange jello it was actually really good. The lime jello and absinth though was a little tougher to make because of the high alcohol proof but once I got into the right ratio it was awesome. Make these, you know you want to
Excellent excuse to buy some Sambuca!
Very nice! More sambuca cocktails please. Even my bottle of Malort gets more use 😅
The scariest thing about this new video is how great Anders' hair is. Envious.
Haha appreciate that. Cheers
I like that one, it’s a very complex cocktail with a lot going on. However my wife doesn’t like it that much, so I substituted the Sambucca for Hendricks Dry Gin and that one we both agree is s superb one. We didn’t name it yet, it’s a tamed version of yours.
🍻
This looks so good, I'll have to try it next time I go out, they probably won't give me the fire lol.
💯💯
Awww, Freya! I will stay away from lighting my drinks on fire, tho! 🤣
TO THE BAR!➡️🥃💀👻🎃
cute dog: I want a sip.
Hello Az.. 😄
This video is so good! Who is this Anders? What a character 😂 really you're getting better every video you make.
About this cocktail, I'm not a fan of anice and liquorice, so I thought I could switch sambuca with a dark cherry liqueur 😁
I always enjoy it when I see dirty dishes in other peoples sinks as well. Makes me feel normal 😁
I wonder if there would be a cool effect to stir the cocktail right before pouring in the lit sambuca with the swirling and whatnot
This looks quite dangerous!😂
Please be careful with glass and rapid temperature changes! The snifter could explode if you chill it and then light it on fire, so it should start at room temp
