Hi Fil Thank you for your kind comments on the production mate Taj made my job easy 😄 My little studio Lucky Boy Analogue are very very proud to have been involved Love and good health Geoff
Keep up the wonderful work. I’ve been feeling a little down with things happening here in the US and after listening to this I feel better in so many ways; balm to the soul🤗
@@sevans2140 Hi ..thank you...so glad and grateful to make a difference in these difficult and dark times Music is a powerful medicine Stay well...best of wishes to you
This kid never ceases to amaze me! Can't wait to see him at 18...talk about a prodigy! Wow!! So happy to see him making it already...let's pray that his dad/fam can keep him grounded so that he doesn't run off the rails as the national/worldwide attention finds him.
Great review! I appreciate how you keep your comments positive. A lot of people use similar platforms to tear performers down. I watch your reviews because, one, you know what you talking about, two you are a great communicator and teacher, and three you are a nice guy! Keep up the great work.
So much talent this young man has, he is a god's gift. I also have been listening to Taj since he was eight, very very talented playing and now also singing WOW!!!! Can not wait to see who and what he has become. Just amazing all his talent Taj has deep down in his soul that releases from his body that alot of people do not have. No matter what he plays, I'm blown away. Love his talent !!!!!! Keep blowing us away Taj Farret
Never thought about those extra "noises" between phrases that express attitude and feeling until you pointed it out, Fil. Makes one appreciate the natural talent this young man posseses even more!
Took up piano at 8 years old. Got my first guitar and started singing at 10 years old and fell in love with the wonderful world of music! Taj is a PHENOMENAL young talent!! Wishing him a very bright future ahead!! Great Analysis and demo Fil! 🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
Very very good, very enjoyable to listen to, heartfelt, great message, smooth singing, great licks, total package. B4 this video started, I thought "ok, here we go, another young shredder with no feeling that will sound like a trip to the dentist", but then the music started, and at once my soul was grooving to the music. Very surprising, was not expecting such depth and feeling to the piece. Really really nice!
Your analysis demonstrates the technique needed to perform Taj's music! He is truly gifted and can I add YOU are Master of your craft and a wonderful mentor to this young man.
As always you are spot on with your analysis. You can absolutely tell Taj loves what he's doing and it shows in his playing. He is a true prodigy and I absolutely love how you speak the truth always, never jealous just appreciative of good music. You're a true pro always and it's why I always watch your videos. I'm a huge fan. ✌❤🤘🎵😎🎶
Such a brilliant talent and Aussie homegrown too!! (A bit lot local pride here - last year I lived in his area for 5 months before going to Europe). His playing is beyond amazing and his vocals are excellent. I'm looking forward to seeing how he sounds after his voice breaks and transitions to adult voice.
I followed your suggestion and watched/listened to Taj Farrant before your analysis. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him. Taj provided a total package musically--masterful guitar playing, great vocal abilities and a composition with relevant lyrical content(going back to your Mac Davis analysis). Thanks for your great analysis of this phenomenal child prodigy.
So sweet! I could tell immediately not auto tuned; his singing brought a tear to my eyes: beautiful playing , sweet voice with a little vibrato and feeling. Cool video, inc switching out his hats. 👏 Bravo😎💝
"All we need is love, faith and unity..." And a little child shall lead them, indeed. The depth of skill in every aspect of this video (do we know who wrote the song?) stunned me. It wasn't sad, but it touched my soul and my tears. Beautiful filming, tasty guitar, achingly sweet vocal. Big sigh and big gratitude.
Awesome review Fil! I actually found your channel because my facebook feed came across with Taj so i went on you tube to find out what he was all about and came acrosa your analysis of Taj doing Tennessee Whiskey and have been following both of you very talented people ever since! Thank you!
Taj is AMAZING!!! I've been playing since I was 15 and I am now 51 and when I first heard him I didn't know of I wanted to practice more or just beat my guitars into the ground!!!lol!!! It's not so much his technical ability at such a young age it's his expression, it's the way he makes each note sing; he's playing with feeling and how he feels is that of someone much older!!! I recommend everyone whether you are a musician or not check him out because this kid is just AMAZING and his love for music is going to take him on an amazing journey!!!
I'm not looking forward to waiting for ten years to see just how this young man turns out! I'm going to guess he's going to be amazing! Definitely rooting for him to be the great artist he's well on the way to being!
He is without a doubt one of the greatest child guitar prodigies around, but alot of the time these child prodigies, regardless of if its music, or sport etc, fade away, and get over taken by people who wernt great as children. Alot of it has to do with burning out. While he is indeed gifted, make absolutely no mistake, that he has spent hours, upon hours, upon more hours practising and playing the guitar. I can guarantee you he is missing out on alot of childhood things due to his guitar. But, if he loves it, and doesnt get burnt out, hopefully he will become one of the greats.
I believe he's really loving what he's doing. 5 singles released in the past year. All but one went to #1 on iTunes worldwide blues charts and the one that didn't was #2 in the US and #1 in Australia and other countries. Another single coming out next week and an album this August. Taj is opening for Morris Day at the Prince Purple Rain 40th anniversary celebration, opening shows for Buddy Guy, playing at blues festivals and going to be a performer on Joe Bonamassa's blues cruise next year. He's getting better and better. His singing voice was made for the blues too.
One of these days Fil's going to put out a dull, not thoroughly entertaining vid... The best licks you could ever steal are right here and he details them perfectly. Master's level lectures every one. (That new Strat sounds good on you.)
Taj has a natural ability to play naturally and i find it amazing at his age with so much music maturity, as you said a lot of these things you cannot teach. So how is Taj picks iit up. It's a gift to my ears to listen to him and his playing brings me such joy , I wish him all the very best through his journey and keeps the passion in his playing.
Taj is such a wonderful talented young man! I absolutely love his first song!! I am praying for him and his family. To see him on stage with Santana blew me away! SRV is my most favorite, but Taj is catching up!!
What a great video. I'm not playing any instrument my self nowadays. Use to play clarinet when I was young. When I heard Taj playing first time I was wow wow wov, it was an amazing moment. As a common man i still could here something that was today explained to me. We all can praise Taj which is all right because he is fantastic. An old soul in young body and the feeling that he has, you can clearly see that. But Fil analyzed Taj's playing very well even i think that i understood something about that. Some people can learn to play an instrument but very few can do things that are not learned but spontaneous and makes the playing so personal. Thank you Fil and Taj, you both are great.
Hi Fil, recent subscriber here. I hadn’t heard of Taj and am delighted with the discovery...everything about the song, video and his life story to date touched me. I got a kick out of the fact that before you mentioned it, Stevie Ray Vaughn came to mind as I was listening. Rock!
Wonderful.. love the song - the production - the fine musicality and Fil's fine analysis! In the last year I refrained from commenting about comparing Taj to another special-talent child prodigy, that being Joe Bonamassa. I would've said I love Taj's playing, but I have a limit to HOW MANY COVERS I''m going to listen to! In the case of a young JB, fairly early on in his career he focused on writing/producing/performing his own stuff - that's what made him so much more than a flash in the musical pan - and I thought Taj had to do the same... Otherwise in 10 years it'll be like ... "Oh wasn't he so cute and super-talented back when he was a kid - but now that he's covered his 1,234th tune... well the cuteness-factor has really worn off..." Well I'm thrilled that like Joe, TF HAS NOT fallen into that trap and is now proving he's capable of TRUE-ARTISTRY! Thanks and keep the fine music coming kid!
Great analysis, Fil! You are such a joy to listen to. I need to come back more often ... I'm struggling keeping up w the digital warrior's videos over here in America and have let other joys slide away, but I love your channel so I'll keep watching! God bless
WOW...! Just really amazing Fil! I’m absolutely gobsmacked of Taj’s natural talent his control of his guitar and now his vocals and how they all come together beautifully! Sensational Fil! Cheers Mario! 😀👌👍
Did you see that video of Taj asking for a guitar when he was like, 5 or something? Could hardly understand him, but he said, "I want a guitar." And his Ma said why you want a guitar? And his answer was, "Cause I'm Taj." It was weird.
I've been a student of music my entire life. NOT a musician, by any stretch..... rather, someone who studies music, musicians and has a deep NEED for music. Having watched many a video such as these by Pegasus, I've never felt the reviewer had intense appreciation and knowledge. This young Brit has given me hope that great music will never go unappreciated. My first experience was his explanation and appreciation for Robyn / Robin Gibb's vocal technique. I will be watching.... 💕💕💚
What an amazing young talent with unlimited potential. He already has a big voice that will just get richer and richer. His playing sounds so mature like an adult that’s been playing for 15 years. While he is so young I think the lyrics and the way he delivers this song will appeal to people of all ages. I need to find your first analysis of his playing.
He reminds me of SRV with the progress that he is achieving. People in Dallas and Austin use to point out how he sounds polished from such an early age. I recall how Jimmie' bandmate came to pick up him for a gig and he heard the guitar wailing from the bedroom and it was Stevie sitting on the bed playing. He didn't even know that Jimmie had a little brother. Fil thanks again for a great analysis.
I have watched him since he was 9. And he is a natural and you can tell in his face ,he felt his passion in the music he played. His voice has really growing with him.
Awesome breakdown Phil. This little fella is astounding . If he keeps training his voice with as much passion as he pours into his guitar....he is gonna shake the world someday. I can hear little moments where his vocal style is developing , little bits here and there where you can hear the beginnings of his unique style and soul. Id venture to say that he has done in his tender 11 years on this planet, what many grown people never do in a lifetime. He has discovered his purpose in the universe. I'm gonna be watching him in the future with great anticipation .
Wow!!!!!!!....Very good and detailed analysis; He is a very good guitarist in addition to a good firm voice like the handling of the guitar Taj has a great future ... the song itself is very beautiful, very pleasant👏👏👏👏🎸🎤🎙💯✔👊🤘
When I was young I was playing guitar, singing and putting on performances. I had voice lessons, guitar lessons, etc. My parents are Italian immigrants and they really tried to keep me focused. It’s a lot of work and as a kid, you really need that focus. When I got my first electric guitar, I was missing the feeling and the drive faded. I didn’t have the right people pushing me, because my parents were old fashioned Italian, raising 4 kids, etc. Taj is very fortunate. If you follow how he got into music, he was at an AC/DC concert and he was on his dad’s shoulders. That’s when he saw what he want to do for the rest of his life. He’s very very lucky he has parents young enough to give him that experience with music. I didn’t have it. My parents weren’t hip enough. It took me too long to find out what I really needed: A DISTORTION PEDAL! After watching Taj play, I instantly realized that was what I was missing. The guitar always sounded too dull for me. If I had a distortion pedal and more amp works, I probably would have gone the distance. I didn’t have the right kind of guidance. I love my parents. They really are all about family and love. They just weren’t part of the 70’s and 80’s in that way. Taj is lucky he has the right exposure.
That kid is so goodatfor his age....wow! As long as he stays humble he'll stay on the great road he's on, his parents are doing a great job with the kids!
Watching after I watched your other Analysis of him there is no comparison this young man works really hard he had a dream after AC/DC concert and he’s going for it and he has a hell of a supporting cast Mother Father Sister his Teacher and Fans getting better every day
I LOVE this boy🎸🎼🎵🎶‼️‼️‼️⭕❌⭕❌⭕❌⭕❌⭕🥰he almost blew my mind with his command over what he was pickin' & strumin' as well as his vocals ... I look forward to 5 yrs. from now! He'll be 16 and it's gonna be mind blowing, for sure... bc, like you said Fil, he already has his own style with his playing, as well as his vocals. I love when the corner of his right top lip already curls😒so as time goes on, I hope that physical reaction of his mouth shape while hitting the high notes never goes away,🙏 but becomes more pronounced, and under his control. Does that make sense? He's a young, really young, rocker that seems to have his road paved already, do to his natural talent.., his God given ability, to have the courage to "go for it", while under control🥰🆒he will only get better and better...and age like fine wine 🤗🤯WOW🥰👍🎸🎼💖‼️THANKS again Fil for bringing this vid, bc I had never heard of him, before..carry on Fil👍👉🆒Thanks😎again🙋👍🏼
Thank you for the great critical analysis. So many things happening with Taj's expression. I love it and I love listening to him. He just keeps getting better now 3 years later.
I love the vibrato in Taj's voice. Not surprising to hear it though, he is a great guitarist who uses vibrato well in his playing, it seems like a natural extension of his abilities to include it in his vocals. All hail Taj !!
Alright Fil , I think his new song is so beautiful & haunting & super smooth perfection , I love the song & I love Taj , hes amazing & his wonderful family are the bomb 😁 I could listen to that song over & over again & luckily I have the whole song / video on my playlist so I can listen as much as I want , I love watching you smile & this is 1st time I seen you Bob your head & I can tell you were in to it , thank you Fil for checking into this song by my fave artist Taj , I love him much & love & light to you , 🤘 ROCK ✌🙋 I'm on Taj's Facebook & his I follow him on TH-cam as well , Thanks again Fil , you & Taj are so cute in many ways 🙋🤘🤗😀⭐
Honestly, Taj is a remarkable talent. Only a few in every generation are able to step up to the plate to do such things. It's GOT to be a difficult situation to "promote" such talent without being an asshole. Ego is usually not our friend.
I've been the lead singer in Rock bands, & back-up as well. Started at 6 yr's.old harmonizing on all 4 parts(augmented & diminished). Never had any type of lesson in my life
What a great analysis👏Wow what a talent!👏 He is blessed. Can't wait to see what he's doing as he gets older. He seems like he is taking all of this in stride. Fil you are the best❤!
I am 69 years old I tell you this cause any age loves Taj you are Amazing. Your a Super Star don't let any change your style. You are only going to get better. grandma Linda
I gave my 7 year old friend a Baby Taylor acoustic guitar. His fingers were too short. And I told him he should wait till he's a little bit bigger. He wanted it. Not later on when his fingers are a little BIGGER! He wants it now. That's when desire and imagination are most powerful. I wasn't going to be the one to keep it from him. So I gave him his first guitar, with a good case.. A decent good quality guitar and a quartz tuner. I told him to go ahead and be good at it but not to let it be the only thing that he is good at. He's going to be 10 in December. I think he's a better listener than he's ever been. His fingers are bigger, so is his imagination. He spends less time with video games. I wish him all the happiness in the world..Young men deserve ground support. If you're an older man and you're not helping a younger man you are hurting him. You know if you said yes to everything for a week you would be a different person. Come back tomorrow and we'll see how much you've changed. Hahaha.
Thx for breaking down his song. He’s a little monster. I wish you could talk about his cover of KWS’s While we Cry. It’s unbelievable , imo. Thx again . Ps it looks like you’re never gonna age. ( ;
'Not easy to come here lately. Glad I somehow hit the Fil button on this. It's REAL! And then there sounded a Larry Carlton-ish of Country Music lead guitar! He's got the memories I often don't get to remember. Yup, goin over to subscribe. Thanks Fil!'
Wow, how did I miss on this young artist's talent? Thank you so much for your great analysis which puts him more into the limelight! I love his very natural singing too and I'm sure others have thought about it too and I hope it's okay but he could be Derek Truck's and Susan Tedeschi's son ;) Hope his dad understands hee hee, could have to do with the red sg haha. His parents already blessed him with the best name though ahah! Great discovery for me! Merci/Thank you!

Thanks!
Good analysis and playing. I like blues and r& b . I will have to check out you out in Pegasus music. Taj is a born Phenomenon
HI FIL. YOU DO A GREAT JOB. THANKS FOR WHAT YOU DO. MAN THAT BOY CAN SING AND PLAY. HES GREAT. FIL LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOES.PEACE AND LOVE
Good on ya for featuring Taj!!
What a Wonderful Talent ! Truly amazing.
Thank you, Fil. Very enjoyable & enlightening.
That kid is so goodatfor his age....wow! As long as he stays humble he'll stay on the great road he's on, his parents are doing a great job with the kids!
Astute analysis. Ta. I really look forward to hearing his adult voice.
I can dig it, thanks professor! Been sharing him myself lately so that was excellent timing! PS Carolyn Wonderland
Thanks wonderful 🤘✌🙏🤗🙋
Thank you
Honestly, Taj is a remarkable talent. Only a few in every generation are able to step up to the plate to do such things. It's GOT to be a difficult situation to "promote" such talent without being an asshole. Ego is usually not our friend.
Wow this young man is awesome.
I love he's song.
I'll definately be buying he's album when it comes out!!!
I really enjoyed this and am impressed by his growing talents!
Taj is from my region, Central Coast, NSW, Australia :)
Excellent analogy dude 👏👏👏 I'm one of Taj's biggest fans, so i really appreciated this❣
I've been the lead singer in Rock bands, & back-up as well.

Hahaha.
Oh my goodness! This lad has a great future ahead of him!
Well, good gravy! This child is amazing. What a talented little sweetie.
I wish this beautiful child every happiness in the world.

Wow ashamed to say first time I've seen this young man playing and singing, thanks a million for posting. What a fantastic talent love it 😀
'Not easy to come here lately. Glad I somehow hit the Fil
button on this.
