    Nice. Reminds me of the buildings from the original Epic boxed game, scaled up.

    You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din. I can’t even keep up painting the preconstructed terrain, let alone building it from scratch.

    I always like watching you build terrain mate. Looks fantastic 👍. I never thought of using cookie cutters... What a great idea mate thanks.

    Oh thank goodness. I’ve been really stressing over the new tenth rules and the complete lack of tutorials with the new based direction. Really great of you to break down the process so well. Still not clear how much terrain I need for a Combat Patrol match.

    • @tabletopskirmishgames
      @tabletopskirmishgames  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are playing narrative games or not too worried about tournament rules, just use what ever terrain you like the most and don't worry about it too much. I do like the footprints, though, they make it very clear what does what. If you are halving the battlefield for combat patrols, it might work to halve the terrain that is shown in the layouts if you want to use those. I'll do more videos on this terrain as the process continues. Everything is now glued together which is awesome, on to battle damage next!

    Thanks Lee, good to see those old school skills still being used. You have some lovely, very versatile terrain here, as you say good for many different game systems, and not only good for tournaments but us hobbyists who have used most of our disposable income on the armies, books and other paraphernalia. :>)

    Wait SIXTEEN TABLES WORTH OF TERRAIN?! WHAT?!!!?!?!

    • @tabletopskirmishgames
      @tabletopskirmishgames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha yes, it's 16 tables worth, a big project. Did the same for the Age of Sigmar tournament earlier this month and it was so cool to see it all out on the tables.

    What is the foam insulation board you're using and where are you buying it from? Do you have a link to the product page on Wickes or B&Q etc you can share?

    9:10 Is this what the official terrain setup is in tournaments? How do you get a tank through there? Looks great if I want to march custodes single filer but terrible if I don't intend on skipping the shooting phase each turn?
    New player btw, I was told terrain in tournaments was too dense for tanks so I looked it up on google and found this.

      It's recommended to leave 4" gaps between terrain pieces. Vehicles can go over some low terrain less than 1" and you can designate specific terrain pieces that that could apply to. As long as the rules are clear going in to each tournament game it works.
      All that said, I find the tournament terrain too rigid and prefer to be more creative with terrain. Age of Sigmar allows for that creativity and is great fun. I don't run the Warhammer 40k tournaments anymore and don't even play it now. I quickly went off 10th edition and am currently looking at using rules from Bolt Action, Knoflikt 47, Xenos Rampant, and One Page Rules for my 40k models.

    so ive been looking around for this foam but "insulation foam" doesnt realy get me anywhere. what is the material called? we made a few buildings out of EPS at our club and while that works it damages easily

    • @tabletopskirmishgames
      @tabletopskirmishgames  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Here's the exact stuff I bought ... www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204127721642?var=504679706978
      It can damage easily if it's not on a base, and I find the garage floor paint is so thick it adds a good layer of protection.

    How much more expensive would it have been to do the bases with plexiglass instead of MDF so you could see the objective markers and table mat below the bases? And would it be worth it due to not having to do the bases up? Not a knock on these boards, they look frigging magnificent!

    Is there an argument for having 1/2 to 1/4 of buildings having bottom windows? If knights have towering accounted for in their points, how policed should towering be in terrain setup?
