Yes with an asterisk! Creating a video about making your Performance Max campaign act like a Smart Shopping campaign. Will be out in the next couple weeks!

    Hi
I run smart shopping campaign and started a Max one, but I notice
the newbrand Max runs even more out of control.
For ex., I excluded many countries in the campaign settings. Nevertheless, MaxC shows ads to many of these countries. The daily budget runs out faster so it us a waste of money.
    I dont know why..
I think I stick to standard from now on, since smart shopping will be off in July.
    thanks

I haven't seen issues with location targeting in Performance Max, but I think that warrants a conversation with a Google Ads rep to confirm the campaign is set up with your intended specs! support.google.com/google-ads/gethelp

any option on performance max can we stop search ads?

Hey there - there is not. You can reduce the number of search ads by turning Final URL expansion off.

Did you have more success with standard Shopping campaigns or performance max? Which one would you use for an ecommerce?

Hey Lorenzo - results have been similar. With PMax, there is a huge savings in time to manage the account. Great if you are new to Google Shopping or you are short on time. With Standard, the data you get (search terms, device stats, etc.) can lead to better results IF you know how to optimize based on that data.

@@ScottRedgate also, there is more volume to get with Performance Max. Even if you setup additional campaigns for youtube and display, dynamic search.

Hi Scott, I've been watching your videos for a while, specifically your content on Pmax. We have a profitable Pmax campaign with $200 of ad spend per day. The campaign has about 15 ad groups all segmented by product type. I want to create a new Pmax campaign using just one product type already being used in the current campaign. My idea is to set up 3 asset groups in the new campaign all for the same product and load different creative in each group to test which is the strongest. What are your thoughts on this idea?

Hi Jeremy! I wouldn't recommend having the same SKUs in different asset groups. Similar to not targeting the same keyword with the same match type in multiple ad groups.
