  • Turns out I forgot to mention one or two things in my initial review, so I made another video. Consider it part 2 to the review lol.
    If you want me to clarify anything that I said in the video just leave a comment with your question.
    I'm gonna make more videos so like and sub please and thank you :)
    2019 Honda CBR650R
    No it's not restricted
    Yes it has an exhaust (Akrapovic full titanium)
    Yes I know the audio sucks
    Yes I know I ride like an idiot.
    And yes, believe it or not I am using a Gopro Hero 10 and a Purple Panda mic.
    Thank you :).

    Summarised:
    -The speaker recently purchased a Honda CBR650R motorbike and is sharing their thoughts on it.
    -The speaker had previously owned a Honda CBR500R and finds the CBR650R less comfortable in comparison.
    -They recommend that anyone interested in the CBR650R should sit on one to see if it is a good fit for them.
    -The speaker forgot to mention the ASV levers in their previous review and recommends them over the stock levers.
    -They also mention that the brakes on the CBR650R are surprisingly good, able to slow the bike down quickly without the ABS kicking in.
    -The speaker initially thought the clutch wasn't very strong but later corrected themselves, saying it is actually fine.
    -The suspension is a bit rough on the CBR650R, especially on the front forks.
    -The speaker does a weird cringy thing where they spam the indicator switch while recording motovlogs.
    -The speaker forgot to bring a bag to the store, so they couldn't buy the maintenance items they needed for their bike.
    Overall, the speaker provides some insights and personal experiences with the Honda CBR650R, highlighting some of the bike's strengths and weaknesses.

    The clips of you sat on the bike really put me at ease, got mine coming middle of august and thought I would look huge on the bike, I’m about the same as you so should be ok 😅

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's good to hear, yeah I know the struggle of us bigger guys trying to fit on these sports bikes lol. besides the gear I'm wearing in this clip is big heavy winter gear, so in something smaller the body to bike ratio would look even better.

    Thanks for making these videos! I was really torn between the CB650 and the CBR650 but now I’m leaning toward the CBR.

    In the future event that you decide to review other bikes, could you please do the same thing you did here at 2:49, where you show your sitting position clearly. not a lot of reviewers do this and this makes it easy to imagine sitting on one.

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated 😁. I would love to review other bikes where I can (though i'm not really qualified). Not really sure how I would even get my hands on a few other bikes to review. If I can I will show a clip of me sitting on the bike.

    The coolant reserve tank just supports the main coolant loop, so it's not the end of the world if it's low as the main cooling system can still be 100% full. Obviously it's bad if it's leaking, but actually the rubber washer on the reserve tank cap can have a bad seal allowing it to evaporate slowly. Great videos, I have a 2020 CBR650RA and it's fun seeing others having a blast too; love the sound of that pipe! (I'm still on stock).

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, I didn't know that about the coolant tank, thanks for the helpful info. Thanks for watching. Here's to having fun on a 650r!!!!

    Try riding 2007 (and up) Yamaha R6, and you will find that your Honda is quite comfortable actually 🤣🤣🤣 I am actually considering this bike (currently i ride R6) because i think it is a better option for every day use, nice video man 😁

      Oh trust me I know lol. I've sat on those bikes and you are right, big difference. Just that I'm more used to commuter bikes.

    Great video! I now have a 2018 CBR650F. Slightly different ergos, but I swapped out my seat for a custom Corbin seat. Night and day difference. Also through on a MRA Touring Windscreen. Did 1000 miles in 2 and a half days, no problem.

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice!! Sounds like you got it perfectly set up for touring. I didn't realise the 650f had different ergos.

    Great follow up
    I was thinking in ur first review how tall are you ect lol.
    Ill be fine at 5'10 lol.
    Where did you get your exhaust from ?
    I cant find anywhere that does modds for this bike

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I got the bike with the exhaust already installed. Last place I saw selling them was sportsbikeshop.co.uk or just on the shopping tab on google search, a few retailers had some. Other than that i'm not sure, because the Akrapovic website never has any 🤣.

    Damn haha you're a big boy on this bike. If I was you I would go up 2 or 3x on the rear shock absorber that might make it a bit more comfy for you as it won't make the seat go down as much. Also glad that you're using your mirrors finally and thank you for the shout out no need for that haha. And yes I've seen that you spam click your indicator button I also do that because I feel like I didn't turn off my indicators after a turn but I don't do it as much as you do.

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I think I might go up on the rear shock to be honest. It feels fine, but watching back the video the bike does drop a lot lol. Thanks again for watching.

    Do you commute on this bike? My first bike just got wrecked from this hurricane (MT03), but I’ve been looking for a new bike for next season.
    Tried out the R7 around town and my back was down bad lol, but love the fairing look. Wouldn’t mind an MT07 either. What would you say for a daily-ish commuter?

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah man that sucks, sorry to hear. Yes I do commute on this bike and it is much better than the r7 as you said. The MT07 can't be beat in terms of a commuter but if you really want the fairing look then go for the cbr650r. It still has that sporty seating position but mild enough that you can do 40 - 45mins straight without feeling pain. Just ask yourself how long your commute/ride is gonna be.

    While listening I just realize maybe you are not suppose to drive a motorcycle since you find it uncomfortable. Just my opinion

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well sports bikes anyway. I find other bikes comfy. And even this bike, its only after I have been on it for a while.

    you could bump up the idle to alleviate the slow takeoff problem without using any gas. Right?

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I guess that would help with slow takeoff. However. The engine response and the actual takeoff is fine as i mentioned in the video. A few people have suggested that it's because i'm not used to an inline 4, but I know it's not that either. The best way I can explain it is that the mechanics in the cbr650r throttle make it harder to twist than other bike throttles, maybe the springs are tighter or something. So I feel like I need to put more effort in to twisting the throttle. It's not a problem or a reason not to want the bike, it's just something I noticed, the 2022 feels the same too.

    @D4ni3lS4nk3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey brother, have you thought about installing the clip ons of the cbr500r on to the 650r? That could make it more comfortable

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting! I did not think of that. To be honest I have gotten a lot more used to the positioning now so it does not bother me as much. The bike may be a bit uncomfortable for me, but it is manageable. Thanks for the idea though, it's very good.

      @D4ni3lS4nk3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tvtwistasmoto i know that from 2021 on, both bikes have the same fork diameter, but previous to that year I'm not sure, im just saying in case you want to mod it in the future.

      @@D4ni3lS4nk3 Oh trust me, i've made a mental note of it . It's a good idea I might need one day, thanks. Other viewers reading the comment section may also benefit from it too 🙂🙂.

    Does this get overheated during summer? And how uncomfortable it gets during heavy traffic jam?

    • @tvtwistasmoto
      @tvtwistasmoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sadly I got the bike right after summer ended, so it's hard to say. However we have had a few hot days recently and the bike does feel hot when riding for a while on a hot day. You really feel the heat on your legs and other parts of your body, but it's not that bad. Despite feeling hot, the temperature gauge shows normal temperature though so I think you will be fine in summer. In terms of traffic, yes this bike is uncomfortable if you have to constantly start and stop. But if you are in a jam then you can sit upright and relax, it's not bad.
