Kind of an interesting yet sad thing: a lot of ex-military folks become PMCs, which are essentially Mercenary companies. During the Vietnam War, numerous grunts became mercs after the war, and sadly fought on the side of the oppressors during the Rhodesian Bush War.

This one hit me hard, mostly because of it's timing. I should not say this over youtube, but I too am being sent away, though i been overseas before, this one may be my last! For God and Country I always tell myself, but the truth is I'm there for my small part of the mission. Hopefully once I'm out of the service (Just hit my 20 years mark), then I'll find someone, but until then, my energies are for a higher cause.
Oh you are a Dear for being up this late to reply to me! Thank you! For my unit, we have quite a few young troops where this will be their first time overseas. My hopes are to guide these kids through it, to fully understand what is being asked and expected of them. I figure if I can get these guys through one deployment, the experience will carry them along the rest of their careers, thus my work will be done.
It's so difficult! My sister's husband has to leave for months.... And now it's the most difficult season, since she's pregnant... But she always smiles ;-) That's the key girls...
