I was a teenager during the 70's/80's. It was a wonderful time to be young. People were happier, relationships were closer, life was more care free, and the music was incredible. Attending concerts was a huge thing to do among young people back then. We loved it. Concert tickets were not that expensive at all. The groups my friends and I loved were Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Lynrd Skynrd, Journey, Styx, Foreigner, Triumph, 38 Special, Boston, REO Speedwagon, Rush. I was around the same age as these kids on the dance floor in the video. ABBA is in the top 10 of album/singles sales of all time, selling around 400 million copies. Though I wasn't and am not a huge fan of theirs, their songs bring back a ton of wonderful memories.

    "Dancing Queen" (1976)
is a beautiful song, a fantastic Masterpiece,
which shines in the loftiness of its vocal harmonies
the blonde singer Agnetha is soprano voice,
the brunette singer Frida is mezzo soprano voice,
and blending together made the famous and fantastic 'third voice of ABBA'
And the music is bright and enveloping,
from the initial chord it introduces you into the atmosphere of the disco
, and invites you to dance
"Dancing Queen" is the biggest worldwide hit to ABBA
#1 in several countries of all the world
included the only #1 to ABBA at US Billboard in 1977
    is the flagship ABBA song
with the most vews in Spotyfy and TH-cam
English public has voted it as one of the songs they want to hear the most,
because of the feeling of joy and energy it gives them (another is "Don't stop me now" by Queen)
And in 2015 "Dancing Queen" was included in the Hall of Fame of Grammys awards music
ABBA begin to be famous in 1974,
when They won the Eurovision Song Contest in UK
    with their iconic song "Waterloo"
the live perfomance is that I suggest you to a next reaction
I hope to see you with more reactions to ABBA songs
    My best regards from
    Buenos Aires, Argentina
    South America

@@shockwavereact want more quicker tempo? Take A Chance On Me, Gimme Gimme Gimme and Lay All Your All On Me are all great choices. More heartbreaking kind in lower tempo: S.O.S., The Winner Takes It All, My Love My Life, One Of Us, Slipping Through My Fingers and Knowing Me Knowing You are great chioces. The girls are exceptional singers, topnotch in pop history. I personal do like the middletempo songs best in general like The Name Of The Gsme, Hasta Mañana and Our Last Summer. No autotune back then, check them LIVE to get the talents. Why not Chiquitita in Wembley or the faster ones like Does Your Mother Know? and Summer Night City?

Don't know what ABBA you've heard but "Take A Chance On Me" is another classic with a great official video. Remember ABBA kinda invented music videos too. This video was shot in Frida's favorite dance club.

I grew up in late 50s, 60s, & early 70s. I think those were the best years for music from rock 'n' roll, to bubble gum, to motown, to classic rock, to disco, and then actually back to rock in the 80s; with some fantastic classic country thrown in ... What was there NOT to love?! 🥰

ABBA was a Swedish pop group from the 1970s. They achieved world fame because of the combination of Bjorn's song writing ability and the great harmonies between the girls. Agnitha (the blond) is a soprano and Annafrid, (the brownette) a mezzo-soprano. This combination makes for excellent harmonies.

You say "...Björn's songwriting ability...". Are you unaware that he only wrote the LYRICS?! While his lyrics are superb, so are the melodies and we have Benny to thank for those. ABBA is a group of 4 and all contributed equally to making it what it became. Credit should also go to Stig Andersson and ALL those who contributed to making the songs the best possible.

I'm an elderly OG punk rocker and huge ABBA fan. Blondie used this song as a framework for "Dreaming" and Elvis Costello used the descending octaves he heard in it for "Oliver's Army." Elvis considers this song such a masterpiece that he also references it in his savage "When I Was Cruel No. 2." ABBA's influence is vast and their music is undeniable.

The song was written in 1976 the year that the King of Sweden
Carl XVI Gustaf married his wife Sylvia
and I believe it was played at their wedding celebrations
though it isn't about her - the Queen consort thought it was.
Carl XVI Gustaf is still king of Sweden being the longest reigning Swedish monarch
and last year celebrated his Golden Jubilee.

70s and 80s music is the best when it comes to pop, then you have the big bands from the 40s and 50s, and the ballads from the 60s
today, great performers and music are not so common, though, there are some, like pentatonix hallelujah, bohemian rhapsody, etc
and soundtrack composers like John Williams and the late James Horner, Celine Dion and Josh Groban (remember and you raise me up)
habe very powerful voices, i dont like EDM and autotune, that music is good for todays yought, cheers

@@shockwavereactthey sure are, and much better than todays singers/bands, now they only sing with autotune, exept some do not, like the pure voice of Ariana Grande, and Brian Adams, and ELO, and Pentatonix, and Josh Groban, Celine Dion, and...as you can see, there are still a couple of singers wich can really sing, enjoy the magic wich is music, cheers

@@shockwavereact There was an ad for that brand of hairspray back in the 70s. The model would be tossing her head - like Frida in this video - and her hair would stay in it required state. Joke is that, in the video of Chiquitita, she continually struggling with it! She obviously needed it! 😄

Those girls can blend their voices to Pop Perfection. You might want to react or at least check out "ABBA - Dancing Queen (Live in Australia 1977)" ----> th-cam.com/video/8-nVcEmr02E/w-d-xo.html To pull this off live is even more amazing. Thanks for the reaction.

Please - shut off the Background Muzak when You are doing Your Commenting! Its quite disturbing when we still are enjoying the echoes of this ABBA Masterpiece, and totally unnecessary. Who needs background Muzak when You're talking anyway ..?!
