    Having used both .22 and .25 PAT's many years ago, I have a healthy respect for those small calibers.

    I remember telling a hilti rep a few years ago that this could be done and he had never heard of it. I had to demonstrate it on a piece of I beam to get him to believe it. Even then he said he wouldn't recommend it.

      That's so crazy the Hilti brother's started their company with this tool in 1942. He should had known. In europe we mostly build with concrete so the main purpose of this gun in here is metal on concrete or metal on metal connection.

    The Hilti BX3 will work on concrete walls also. Just dontt miss your target.

    If you look at the video, they already don't look much like bolts, and having used this type of tool and fixing, it's more like a short, thick nail than a bolt, unless OP meant a crossbow bolt type thing.
    The fixing/projectile are packed loosely and individually, and each have a small plastic ring about a 3rd of the way from the point. You insert them into the tool until the ring sits flush, and the fixing stays snug with just the point protruding.
    I don't know about the specific technical limitations, but with soft/mild construction type steel, such as these beams, you can fire one of these fixings into a solid block.
    The depth of penetration is more or less fixed whether the point passes all the way through thinner sections (like this video) or not, if the material is thicker.
    The tool itself has a set given and permanently limited length of travel when fired, and drives the fixings almost flush every time. Unless the material is too hard and/or the tool glances off, in which case it usually twists the projectile up into a crude spiral.
    Just FYI for anyone seeing this in future.

      @Schwalbe_262 Having used other Hilti model that resembles a nail gun and mounted 2in conduit racks, it does work with conduit and metal trusses. The batteries last all day. Trust me I didnt believe it would work on concrete either, Until it proved me otherwise.

      I bet it's louder in person. I've used the same gun firing temporary walls into concrete block and it was loud and had a kick to it

    • @droplifter3435
      @droplifter3435 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SeanA88 Can confirm, it's much louder than this video seems, even with ear protection, and if your target material is sonorous or worse, highly resonant, the sound that comes off the material is even louder.
      When you think that you have to aim to tool as perpendicular and square at the material surface, and that usually the steel is in the form of these type of structural beams, it's a really harsh noise.

    donde se puede conseguir para poder comprar?

    • @ewanrollo5527
      @ewanrollo5527  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Puedes comprar directamente de Hilti, pero son muy caros. Lo mejor es probar eBay. Muchos de ellos disponibles y si no los usa como profesionales, deberían durar años. Solo tenga cuidado de comprar uno bueno con muchas fotos incluidas en el listado que muestre la condición de los componentes internos. Las piezas de repuesto son costosas. El pistón es un artículo de desgaste y necesita ser reemplazado regularmente.
